Remembering the youngest victims of 9/11

:sad1: :sad1:

I didn't know that American flight 77 that crashed into the pentagon was going to LAX.. Those poor children were going to the Channel Islands, that's right off the coast where I live... :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

OMG:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Its beyond comprehension how anyone could do such terrible acts but to see young kids on the planes knowing your plans is unfathomable.

::yes::
I have no words to express me sadness towards this event, nor any to express my anger toward the terrorists.
May these poor innocent souls rest in peace.
:sad1:

Some more memories of the Falkenberg sisters, Zoe and Dana:

I also think about all of the little children who lost one - or both - of their parents that day.. And the babies born after that never were held by their daddies.. :sad1:

Over 3,000 children lost a parent on 9/11.

It's just as heartbreaking today as it was 7 years ago. :sad1:

Some additional information on a young life cut short:

Three year old David Barndhorst was the adopted son of Daniel Barndhorst and his partner, Ronald Gamboa. All three were together on United Flight 175, returning to California after spending a weekend at a friend's waterfront house in Ogunquit, Maine.

Brandhorst and Gamboa were together for 11 years before adopting David. Both were also founding members of the "Pot Luck Club," an organization in West Hollywood providing support and resources for gay dads and their families. That made David and his parents a literal fixture in the community, which was crushed by their loss.

It is strange how many emotions you can go through for people you have never met/will never meet.

I completely agree - I remember reading the Cantor Fitzgerald website for weeks after the crash just wanting to know more about the life stories of some of those who died that day. May they all rest in peace. :grouphug:

May they all Rest In Peace, the children and all others who lost their lives that day.

I'm embarrassed to say I didn't realize any children died on that day. :sad1:

It's not that I didn't know children died that day, I think until looking at this thread, I must have just been in denial about it. So very sad that these young lives were cut so short. Also how sad to think that the last few moments of their little lives had to be so incredibly scary for them:sad2:

Including one of my DD's classmates. Her dad was a very well-liked local soccer-coach and an officer stationed at the Pentagon.

agnes!

I was just thinking that.

This past July youngest DD and I visited oldest DD in Oklahoma and we went to the memorial in OKC. Seeing it in person and seeing those chairs, pictures on the fence, other memorabilia. Just thinking about it makes me cry all over again. :sad1:

I know..I always felt especially bad for the children who were on the school trip and were not with a parent... but I am sure their chaparone or some other good person on the plane comforted them....

Very sad, seems like it was only yesterday. I am thinking of them all right now, it is weird how we all feel so much for the people who were lost, but then I think it's just human nature.
