Remembering RichieYams

He was so much fun! I miss his posts. I never could tell if he was serious about cooking and eating pigs feet in his villa. That was back when we were allowed to have a little fun on these boards!;)

.....but he was right -- those hallways are looooong!

I wanted to see if any of his old posts can still be pulled up by search but I had no luck.

His posts can still be enjoyed - try a search for Richyams and you should be able to bring them up .

Rich passed away on 09-07-2004. Posts made using that account since then are from family members (mainly his wife Lisa) but posts prior to that time were from Rich himself. I think Rich's posts start on the third page of the search results.

I did this today and it didn't work. Not sure what I did wrong, but it didn't recognize Richyams.

Edited to say that I tried again and was able to access Rich's posts.

Ah yes, it's the fridge quip that sticks in my mind too :)

His posts were ones I always read.

ITA maybe disers aren't just as clever and funny anymore. His posts could always bring a smile to my face.

Wow, he's been gone since 2004? Had no idea it was that long ago already. He was great contributor to this forum and always made me laugh. He was also very helpful and instrumental in my decision to purchase at OKW. I agree, that was a simpler time on the DIS. Not as many people getting bent out of shape over harmless comments.

Not to let the air out of the balloon of simpler times and kinder posters on the Dis , but I beg to disagree.

Back in the early 2000's there were so many 'resort wars' here on the Dis, it was ridiculous.

Many were very much wanting others to feel they bought at an inferior resort.

No, it wasn't pleasant then and in many ways I find the DVC section much more amiable now.:goodvibes

he could be fun - but he could also be a pain. He did not like insurance companies (and I worked for one)

I wasn't referring specifically to the DVC board. But in general I find that all of the forums are more hostile than they used to be---which I suppose is to be expected with a higher amount of people using the boards.

Ah, in that case, I agree.:thumbsup2
