My thoughts exactly. I am very patriotic. Just not in the sugary-sweet jingoistic way that became the norm after 9/11. Saying that, I found Dan's tribute very nice. It needed no warning.

Correct me if I'm wrong, and I hate to speak for Dan, but I don't want to see this go on. I don't belive Dan is questioning anyone's patriotism. I think Dan has gotten grief in the past for being overly "anything". Dan has had to resort to warnings in his titles for everything and I guess he is covering all of the bases. Probably so his thread doesn't get hijacked like it starting to.

So back to the important message here. Thank you again Dan.

For many of us in the northeast, this is a tough, tough subject. The warning, I'm sure, is there in case we can't handle it. It's quieter than saying, "Warning: 9/11 tribute".

Very touching dan...I started watching the 9/11 show last night on PBS and just couldn't turn it off.
It was amazing to hear the stories of how some people stayed behind just so they wouldn't leave their colleagues hurt and dying alone. How sad.
