Remembering extinct foods

C) I'm sorry that your parents did not love you. Any self respecting parent that truly loved their child would have introduced overly processed foods with plenty of corn syrup and red dye #40 to their children back in the day. It sounds like you perhaps grew up in a little house on the prairie.

Oh if only I were so lucky!! I remember getting McDonalds once when I was about 9, that was the coolest thing EVER!

Cow patties? We here in Wisconsin have cow pies...and badger claws..and udderfingers ( think that's the name)

I had to google the udderfingers just to see what the packaging looked like. A cow as its mascot - just as I thought.

Well of course! This IS Wisconsin!! I sent some of our goodies to Idaho (no, U-Daho haha) for my kiddo's penpal. They loved them. I'm sad to say that I've never had a cow pie but I think it's essentially like one of those turtle things. Some sort of nut, caramel and chocolate. We also have some amazing white chocolate covered cranberry popcorn. NOM NOM NOM

I'll second or third Jello pudding pops!! I didn't think Chocodiles were gone. Seemed like I just bought one last year.

This is a little off topic, but the cow pies made me think of this. Moon Pies just started making chocolate/peanut butter moon pies. Now, the secret is to refrigerate them before eating. Be forewarned - you won't be able to stop at one. You can find them at Cracker Barrel.

And now back to our original topic...

Alot of people are probably going to say yuck to the first one but anyway,
Crystal Pepsi.

I also miss those vanilla choc chip jello pudding pops or were they swiss miss? I forget.

Otter pops.

And Planters cheeze balls in the tin container ahhh!!

That's because you live in California. Hostess only makes these in factories on the west coast. They don't ship them to us on the east coast. I consider it a violation of my civil rights and would boycott Hostess if not for my obsession with Suzy-Q's

I don't know what a moon pie is, other than some guy on some movie chewed one up and kept it in his mouth and spit it all over somebody. I'm assuming that is not what those are mainly used for.

Seriously...what are pudding pops, suzy-Qs and anything else mentioned? Should I put in a complaint to my parents for not giving me high fructose corn syrup? Maybe if they had given it to me earlier in life, I would go crazy with it now.

:scared1: What kind of sick, twisted parents raised you?

Pudding pops were Heaven on Earth to me as a kid.

We used to make our own! :) YUM!!!!

Oh, yeah!

Remember Chocolite bars from Nestle?

Zagnuts?

Chocolite bars, I think those are very similar to a chocolate bar my friend in the UK sends me, they are called Wispas and they are aerated chocolate. OMG, sooooooooooooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it when I get a care package from him! :)

You need a West Coast buddy that will trade chocodiles for whatever goodies you have where you are. :)

Otter Pops! YUM, we can find them here in the summer for a brief time, we always buy them for the kids. :) And cheez balls in the tin......loved those things!!!

This is where my delicious snacks came from:

And if I was reallllly lucky, I'd get a dime to go across the street to the liquor store and buy one of these bad boys

They're not completely extinct, but Roy Rogers restaurants are only in a handful of states these days(Florida is not one of them:sad1:). When I was a child, my favorite burger was their bacon cheeseburger. It far exceeded What McDonalds or Burger King was offering. They had the best buns also.

Okay...that sort of looks like Smurf Berries...

although I doubt very much that those berries are fortified with ten essential vitamins and minerals.

I hated slo pokes. My nightmares about them resolve around me trying to remove their glue like substance from various corners of my mouth.

I have to add my favorite extinct beverage - Kool Aid's Great Bluedini. That was the sugary sweetest drink ever!!!

I forget what they were called, but it was some kind of pizza chip. Kind of like a Dorito. And also these ice cream-flavored lollipops. Can't remember what they were called either. And strawberry Pepsi, that was just a couple of years ago, I really liked that.
