we were actually afraid of misbehaving in front of adults, taechers and police officers? I don't know if it's my age(40) or just a sign of the times but I can't believe how disrespectful some kids can be and how afraid some adults are to reprimand kids other than their own. Yesterday while we were eating dinner, some kids were right outside my house using really foul language. I went out and said 'Hey, if you're going to use language like that-get away from my house and do it somewhere else." They moved and didn't say anything rude to me but when i told DH he was like 'they'll probably egg the house" I say the day I'm afraid of 11 year old boys is the day it's all over for me, lol. Anyway, it got me thinking about how some parents refuse to say anything to any kids other than their own and I just don't understand that. I don't go around randomly disciplining kids but in certain circumstances I will say something. When I was a kid, I wouldn't dream of being rude to a grown-up or talking back and now the way I see some of these kids talking to teachers, cops-blows my mind, but then again they way some of them talk to their own parents boggles my mind.

95% of my kids were great, but the bad seeds knew we were not allowed to do anything to them.
And there was literally nothing we could do about it unless DH physically caught him again.
