My first trip that included Epcot was in 1994. World Showcase opened later than Future World then and I don't ever remember it opening the same time as Future World.
I really miss the opening of both sections at 9am. We too used to go there first, get a pastry for breakfast at France. It was so empty, no waits for anything. Another fun thing was the double decker bus that shuttled people around the world showcase. They could never do it today, too crowded.

Oh, yes-I loved that bus! One evening in particular, I've never seen a CM who enjoyed his job as much as the CM on the back of the bus. Over 20 years later and I still remember how he made us smile!
I remember it being like that for our late 80's and early 90's visits. We would march right through FW and head back to the WS in early am. It was so nice. Basically had the WS to ourselves! Would just walk around, taking in the beauty of the pavillions and the piped in music w/o the congestion or noise from crowds! Took lots of pix! Great memories!!
Then, when the WS got more crowded in the afternoon, we'd head back and do FW bc the morning crowd there had shifted to WS! WDW, in general, was a different experience back then than it is now!
