Boy, do I miss the days when Disney Village was the place to go to get away from the crowds and the pushing and shoving!

It wasn't too many years ago that we used to go there on our last day to unwind and relax yet still be surrounded by the Disney magic. Now it's another "theme park" only without the admission. Oh, well, I guess it's a good thing. It means the dollars are rolling in and my DVC investment will still be around.

I miss it being quiet too. DTD is crazy now! It's fun, but certainly not what it used to be. :(

I remember being six and attending a character breakfast on the boat that is now Fulton's. My parents have pictures of the place and its actually surrounded.....BY TREES!

I miss the Empress Lilly restaurant, too... :( My parents have some great pictures of my younger sister getting carried off by Goofy and "rescued" by Pluto.

One thing that my family misses besides the quiet of the Village Marketplace is the Disney Inn! We stayed there 4 years in a row before it became Shades of Green. It was always so quiet and relaxing and when we arrived on the first day warm cookies and cold milk were always sent to our room! Snow White and the Dwarfs always left notes in our hotel room too! Those small details are what we miss the most! We still love WDW and can't wait to be there again! (Only 19 more days!) ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

DTD would feel better if there were more trees. ::yes::

Does anyone remember a restaurant on the water I think it was called Chef Mickeys or maybe Minnie's Kitchen? They had great food. This was before Pleasure Island.

How about when Disney Village would have a Nativity pagent in December? They were great!

I have pictures from our honeymoon when all there was behind the Empress Lily was trees!!! I miss the Villiage, as I still call it.
Chef Mickey's was originally there.....and Minnie Mia's Pizzaria was a takeout place about where the Lego store was.

The original Character Warehouse was very small....then moved to a larger building....then morphed to World of Disney! I still enjoy going, but it's not the same!

I remember going to that character breakfast-at least when we went, it was the only place Donald Duck ate breakfast, and DS loved him. And after breakfast, we strolled through DTD looking at the pictures of the Art Festival that's in early November. Nice, quiet.

Yes!!! That was where I had my first Mickey Mouse waffle as a wee boy - I still have the video to prove it (taken with a camcorder that's bigger than a fax machine... man, it can't have been that long ago - can it?)

I remember being able to drive the golf carts over to the Village from the Villas. There was cart parking all around the perimeter with plugs to recharge while you shopped.

I miss the Gourmet Pantry, also.

I wish it was back to the way it used to be.

I too remember the Village when there wasn't even PI:(

:)

I remember the Empress Lily Ferry. We would take our kids to the Character Breakfast there. I have some wonderful pictures and wonderful memories. When our son graduated from HS two years ago, we placed in his yearbook a picture from Empress Lilly with him kissing Minnie on the nose!

Getting ready to almost countdown hours!!!

Remember when the Trumbo Ferry used to stop on the dock of what is now Fulton's Crab House?

(This thread is going to get some memories going...)
