Remember to label your memory cards!

How would you do SD cards?...I have looked at them and they are so small and there is no place on the label to write anything.

I will have to find some kind of sticker that would fit. Is there any type that would not come off in camera?

I used a black Staedler CD-R Pen. It's a fine point. I wouldn't put a sticker on them.

hm hadn't thought about that,, I don't know that I would trust labels to not come off..

I used to use labels on my cds and was quite comfortable that they wouldn't come off...until the day I tried ejecting a cd from my car stereo and it was stuck..I ended up having to remove the cd player from my car and take it apart to get the cd and label out... that was the day I stopped trusting labels on cds..


could you at least put a phone number on your cards with a fine point sharpie

This is such a good idea - I need to do get this done. Of course I also need to get better organized on my cards - I know I have 4 GB floating around somewhere that I haven't seen in months, but I know it's only "lost" at home.

A couple of months ago I was on a flight and noticed a shiny SD card at my feet. I have an SD card reader on my laptop so I took a look and there were zero pictures on it. Now I have what appears to be a brand new card - but I don't have a camera that uses that type!

then perhaps either a business card, or make a little card with all the info and take a picture of that each time before heading out to take pics..

The Staedler pen is such a fine point I was able to put my area plus number on it in black. It shows up on the dark blue.

I use a type of return address labels. I print my name and email address on them with my inkjet printer, in print smaller and neater than I could ever do by hand (but still perfectly legible). The labels are a little larger than my CF cards, so I have to cut them in half.

So far I haven't had any trouble with the labels coming off the cards.

I said the same for years about labels on cds, but that one that did come off,

The possiblity of it ever coming off is enough to scare me away from labels.
SD cards are way too small to fit anything but my number in fine point marker. I could sort of squeeze more on my CF cards but I want it easy to read. If the finder opens them then they'll see my info pic. Hopefully that'll be enough to get them to call
