Do you know any Pats? We have one at my work that we have been trying to figure out for a couple of weeks now. He/she brings in a patient for treatment every day. Today I thought we were going to get our answer. He/she was heading for the rest rooms and I thought "This is it!" I anxiously waited to see what door he/she would push through, I could hear the drum roll, the excitement was building and then.......he/she stoops over and gets a 'insert bad word' drink out of the 'insert another bad word' water fountain. Another day and the mystery remains. :confused3

Yes, when I was a travel agent I had a 'phone pat' they would call to book business trips and I could not tell by the voice if it was a man or a woman - it could have gone either way :confused3

So I used to just leave off the Mr. Mrs. Ms. and just put the name which was "Pat Smith" :rotfl:

OMG! "Pat" is the running joke between me and my mom. If we are out somewhere and we see someone of "questionable gender", one of us will say, "PAT!" It cracks us up every time.

BTW, I would be totally stalking the Pat at your work if I saw him/her heading for the bathroom! Keep us posted on the mystery man/woman! :rotfl: :rotfl:

We had one at work. Couldn't tell if they were male or female. Their name was Jo so we "assume" they might have been female but never saw them heading for the bathroom.

This reminds of once when I was a teenager. A friend and I were babysitting and we decided to order a pizza. When the delivery person got to the door we were wondering aloud if it was a male or a female. We actually were arguing about it. I finally got the cash together and went to the door. The delivery person told me the amount due, at which point the 5 yr old girl yelled up at me, "See, I told you it was a girl!" So the delivery woman says "What, there was some kind of discussion?" Can you say MORTIFIED? I felt terrible. And that is when I learned to watch very carefully what I said around kids, lol!

I loved Pat from SNL! It was so funny. When I was a college student, there was a graduate student "Pat" and it drove me crazy trying to determine this person's gender. Oddly frustrating---it made me realize how much we humans like to be able to readily categorize people.

I was watching an ER type show on TLC last week and there was a "Pat" who came in with stomach pains. They did an exam and even with looking downstairs, it was questionable?! Turns out "Pat" was pregnant! :)

:rotfl: :rotfl: DD's bus driver!...we have called him/ her Pat from day one...the kids seriously have no idea and neither do we! Never utters a word, just waves and sniffs a lot, wears a jean jacket in the dead of winter, but the eyeglasses tend to look a bit more female...however, the kids have never seen Pat standing...I wonder if we will have the same driver this upcoming school year......

the family that lives behind us has a 4-or-so YO child and DW and I cannot figure it out for love or money. Even after speaking with the child I still have no clue. I think the child's name is Chris :confused3

There was a "Pat" at the table next to our table at lunch at Teppanyaki last month. We "think" Pat was a girl, but it was Gay Days and Pat was with a guy...gave us something to ponder once the chef was done.

We had a Pat riding a bike in our neighborhood this weekend - only it was a teenager. :( My kids insisted it was a girl but I thought for sure it was a boy. Still unsure...

There is one in the PC Support department where I work. No mystery, though, her name is Kathy. :)
