who has friends." Clarence, "It's a Wonderful Life".
We have a tradition in my family of watching "It's a Wonderful Life" on Christmas Eve. It's one of my favorite movies, and Christmas Eve is also my birthday so I really enjoy watching it after the kids go to bed with my DW. Well, this year we were busy on Christmas Eve, and we saved the movie for Christmas Day. We had the girls, DD7
and DD10
, join us to watch the movie for the first time. It was a great way to end the evening, and really reminded me of why I watch the movie.
The quote the Clarence writes in the edition of Tom Sawyer given to George Bailey really gets me every time. It's a quote that I used as the dedication when I wrote my PhD thesis. I have an ongoing battle with depression, and often forget about my support net when I am in a dark place.
It was good for me to remember the quote again, and it made me think of my friends here. I feel truly fortunate to have such a great group of friends here on the DIS and especially here on the DIS Unplugged boards. I am thankful for all of you, and I look forward to meeting more of you in the future.
Be well.
