Remember my "Daughter's Friend Punished" Thread? Funny Update!

So a few weeks ago I posted a thread about my daughter being invited by a friend to spend the weekend at their family vacation home. The friend had some behavior issues and was punished by not being allowed to have a friend - my daughter - come with her. I griped a little about it and we had a longish thread with various opinions, etc.

My daughter had another bitter pill to swallow last week when her older sister was invited to the same vacation area by one of HER friends - it was a reunion of several high school friends at one of the girls' family's vacation home. So DD20 got to have a fun time and DD15 still had to stay home - she was not included in the "big girl" reunion.

So, she's feeling a little bummed. Then, yesterday, her friend calls and says, "Hey, do you want to go with us this weekend?" I hear her say, "That sounds awesome - let me ask my mom" and I hear DD15 coming down the hall. I laughed and said - loud enough for the friend to hear through the phone - "HAS SHE CLEANED HER ROOM? IS SHE SURE?" with a laugh in my voice. I heard the friend say "YES!" and we all laughed.

DD will leave in about an hour and finally will get her chance to have a fun weekend at the lake. Just thought you might enjoy the follow up!!!

I could tell she had had her phone taken away for at least a couple of weeks, and she had her room clean before she called with the invitation.

I do love this family, so I'm glad it worked out. DD will have fun and it's the last week of summer - school a week from Monday!!!
