Hey there!
I'm wondering if there is a reloadable VISA card out there? I know that I've purchased VISA Gift Cards at our local bank for something like $4.95 or so fee- not sure if they are reloadable or not. Here's the thing- I save back about $200/month for my vacation fund and we typically take 2 x $250 gift cards, so I would like to get a gift card with $100 on it, 2 weeks later put another $100 on it, and then another $50- and if I earn more before our trip, I'll put more on each card (Always feels great to have money to come home with after a WDW vacation!!). Do you know of a reloadable VISA gift card? If that's the case, I'll just keep them year to year for our WDW trip every year! Thanks in advance for your help!!

There are quite a few of them that you can use but most of them have a fee to load money onto them. The most popular one is green dot reloadable money cards but again you have to pay a fee to load it. There are a couple of debit cards that you can use and have no fee with a direct deposit.

Check with your bank. Our bank has a Visa Buxx product that allows us to load money at any time, in whatever increment we want from our other accounts for free. I think we paid $10 to get it, but its free from there on out as long as we load from the same bank's accounts. KWIM? We use it for our 14yo DD now that she is in high school. Lunches, movies, shopping with friends, and even travel for sports and choir is so much easier. I don't have to go to the bank to get cash, I can hop on the computer and put money on her card. And I can see what she is spending as it happens. There is a max, but I think its $2500 or so.

Also, check with your employer. They may have a payroll card that they can direct deposit onto. Those should cost you absolutely nothing, the employer picks up the cost.

What about a PayPal debit card? I have a PP debit MasterCard and I am able to load money on it and use it almost anywhere. I don't know if that is an option for you....

AAA might have one with few fees. AAA southern New England doesn't have the Visa Travel Card anymore. Instead they now give us an option to use our AAA as a prepaid American Express. I don't know what other branches have.

Actually, American Express has a pretty good prepaid card that isn't through AAA. It has basically no fees. If you go to the Amex website, you can find lots of info about it. Personally, I like it for creating a travel fund better than gift cards because you won't lose the money on it if you lose the card. I like it for online shopping too.

DD13 has a VISA credit card that I upload money to. I set it up to pay to it twice a month for her allowance. There is no fee if you use your checking account to upload the money. It does take a few days for the money to credit to the card.

Also, it's not like a regular credit card, but more like a debit card. When her money runs out, then she can't charge anymore on it.

I think there is a monthly fee if you want to be able to use an ATM with it (we didn't sign up for that option). Otherwise, I pay no monthly fee.

It's from UPside. I think the website is upsidecard.com

HTH!
