Release of cabanas prior to cruise

For those who are not sailing conceirge and are interested in a Cabana, we're now at the 29 day point on the countdown for our upcoming Magic cruise and this morning DCL appeared to have released the Lighthouse Point cabanas that were remaining for anyone to book. (I decided not to book one.) There appears to be quite a few cabins left for our cruise. The other time where the same thing happened was also on a Magic cruise but it was early May. (We did book a Serenity Bay cabana that time.) So while it's not guaranteed, if you're interested in a cabana and not sailing conceirge, my experience is that you have a better chance of getting one on a smaller ship during a less busy month and they tend to release them around the 30 day mark.

There is still 5 Lookout Cay Adult only Cabanas for our 7/28 Dream available so

I think they are all ridiculously priced so zero interest to me

I have always thought that this was the case. I think they hold ALL of them for the concierge guests and release them after a certain time if they are not wanted by the concierge guests. We're Pearl and we can never get one at midnight on our activity booking date but frequently "find" them later on.

I saw that as well. We're on the same sailing and yes, there are a lot of rooms still available. I think we've sailed on the same cruise another time. Perhaps the Magic in 2024 from San Juan to Port Everglades?

A possible reason for Lookout cabana being released is that there is a lot of eroding happening there and the beach is really not great by the lookout cabanas.

The adult only Lookout cabanas also are at a weird spot. They are back on the dunes so I’m not sure if I would want to pay the money for them.

I would love a family cabana at Castaway but not at all at Lookout— their location is not of interest to me. Even if they were available for a sailing when I was going to Lookout Cay, I wouldn’t book it.

We were sailing 2/16 on the Fantasy. About 10 days before that, I happened to be looking at activities for our LC day (we had a tour booked, were thinking about changing it), when I saw a cabana available at SB. We ended up getting it even though I have never really had much interest in them. We enjoyed it for what was a special trip for us!

See you onboard! I've never sailed leaving from San Juan, but maybe it was another cruise.

I must be on the cruise after you...8/17. We are at 29 days (plus hours) and we had a handful of cabanas become available today.
