We recently returned from our 4th stay at HH DVC. Our stay was from Sunday, May 18th thru Saturday, May 24th. We are a family of 5 w/3 boys ages 5, 3, and 4 months.

We were in the 1 bedroom unit in building 19. Everything was in good shape. I had to wrestle with the sleeper sofa a few times but that happens to me most of the time....often the darn things just don't want to cooperate. The changes that I noticed from our trip the previous May was that the rockers on the porch had been replaced with a type of product that is made out of a plastic/vinyl residue instead of the old wood ones from before. I noticed that the benches around the property were also now made from this substance. They are very functional and look really great. The washer and dryer in our unit also appeared to be quite new.

The 2 older kids loved the jacuzzi. We took along bubble bath and I have never seen the amount of bubbles that we created.

We put the little one's pack and play in the jacuzzi area at night for sleeping and he pretty much had his own private bedroom.

We did the fewest amount of activities that we have ever done....1 campfire participated in, and 1 campfire crashed just for the smores. The only dissapointment was that the "Unbirthday Party" was only held on Sunday the day of our check-in and we missed it. Spouse called to ask why it was not offered during the week and the CM she spoke with explained that it was only offered on weekends and not during the week. She said that was news to her because during our previous trips the 5 year old had attended...each time on a Wednesday. The CM then, rather sheepishly admitted that he had only been there a short time. We never really mentioned it to the boys so they did not give it a thought.

We had excellent meals at "The Crazy Crab" location out close to the bridge when you come on the island. Sticky Fingers was a standout for excellent barbecue. We had eaten at one in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. about 8 years ago and loved it. Very good food at really decent prices....don't find that often on HHI...I am talking about decent prices. We gave the Old Oyster Factory a 2nd chance and wished we hadn't....we had eaten there on our first trip 4 years ago and found it to be very average, nothing more. We tried it again and found it to be that again....average, at least to us. Giuseppi's Pizza, a family favorite, was a great choice for delivery of pizza and pasta on Thursday evening when the rains came. We returned to the Pasta Garden for a 2nd time this trip and it was really good again. I think that it had just opened when we tried it for the 1st time last year. We tried to get to Truffle's in Bluffton on Friday night but a traffic accident had traffic blocked heading off the island for several miles. We had lunch at San Miguel's on the patio outside overlooking the marina. It is okay Mexican food....nothing special and actually pricey for lunch but the atomsphere is very relaxing.

We made 2 trips down to the beach house for sand castle making and just enjoying the ocean. The water was fine. When our litttle boys are a bit older and able to carry more stuff, we will go down more often...... it was like moving an army. We really do love the pool area at the resort. The 3 year old is not as adventuresome as his older brother was/is when it comes to water so he really enjoys the kiddie pool there. We gave them a choice on day and they both opted for the resort pool over the beach....we did not try and change their minds.

We had a great time......a wonderfully fun family vacation. The kind of memories that you just love to hold onto.

One of the biggest highlights was that we actually got into our unit when we arrived at 11:00 am on Sunday morning. As most DVCers know.....that is a REALLY GREATA way to start a DVC vacation. it was like having an extra day of vacation.

Sounds like a wonderful trip. Looking forward to ours in a couple of months. Good family fun and lots of relaxation!:D

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. We are getting excited for our first HH trip in July with our 3 kids- ages 13, 10 and 6. Thanks for posting your report.

Thanks for the great report. Sounds like a fun and relaxing time. That is exactyly what we are looking for when we go in July for our first trip with our kids, 8, 4 and 1. We've printed off Tommy's treasure hunt and will try that and leave a treasure since it is gone.

Thanks for the report! We will be arriving one month from today and can't wait! I just love HH!!
