Relaxed touring plan--folly or not?

We have always done 5 days when we did not have APs and found we got a lot done - many, many times on all of the major rides (our last trip we rode GOTG 12 times in those 5 days) but we have park hoppers, as I cannot imagine going to DLR and not since we love the rides in DCA as much if not more than some of the ones in DL. If you want to make the absolute most of your park days then the extra $ for park hoppers and MP are the way to go.
