Relaxation, Disney Style, PTR. ~*TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED! 9/18 Pg. 155*~

So many great suggestions- I like them all! I'm not sure I have too many other unique suggestions (and I skimmed so apologies if these were already mentioned).

What about maybe something for your house like one of those prints by Larry Dotson? Sometimes he's even there in WDW and signing the prints. I have one of Chefs de France he signed to me... love it! Or a figurine of some sort?

I like the "Tomorrowland Challenge." I could use some motivation myself. Think Mr. Moneybags would fund multiple rewards? :lmao:

What about a Dooney Bourke bag? Not sure if you like them or not? :scratchin Are you a fan of heights? There is the Characters in Flight in DTD that would offer amazing views.

I need to put my weight loss ticker up on DIS to help be held accountable. I go in spurts where I am really good and then have a bad day, and it takes multiple days to get back on track. I am trying to strike the right balance eating well, working out and having the occasional treat.

Hang in there!! You have done so well, you will get over the hump!!

Tickets for MNSSHP were the first thing that came to my mind, but then again maybe an event where they give you tons of free candy might be counterproductive. You could always pass on the candy and do all the other fun things though. Maybe you could get to pick Marc's costume as well as part of the prize. :scratchin

The Spa and fireworks cruises all sound like great ideas. What about Cirque du Soliel? Have you seen that?

Hmmmmm.... A Disney bribe.

Well, whenever I have extra money I like to spend it on food....a special, unplanned dinner. Is that bad....losing weight so you can eat more?

Cirque du soliel comes to mind.

A behind the scenes tour....KTTK is very good, but I can't remember if you did it or not.

A segway tour

party tickets

parasailing IS something you have always wanted to do.

Are there any special events during F&W that you would like to attend.

I like Christine's idea about the artwork.

A deposit on a bounceback trip

Oh....I could go on and on, but I gotta get back to work.

Would you have any interest in a spa treatment?

That's a wonderful way to treat yourself and something nice to look forward to. :goodvibes

So what do you think? What could these FABULOUS prizes be that are going to keep me from eating M&M's and mashed potatoes?

These aren't the quattro formaggi potatoes from Citricos we're avoiding, right? Because that's sacreligious. LOL J/K

I can't wait to hear your fabulous ideas!

You know what I just thought of...Parasailing...!!! I'm going to go do some pricing....:rolleyes1

I think parasailing would be AWESOME! I've yet to do it but BF has and he loved it. It can be pricey but in my book, totally worth it.

As someone who has experienced the loveliness of the GF Spa, I also say a spa treatment! The pedicure was great! Though next time I'll be checking out the Mandara Spa at the Dolphin...more my atmosphere.

Other things I've wanted to try but have yet to fit in:
-horseback riding at FW
-the Keys to the Kingdom Tour
-dinner at Victoria and Albert's (I know you're avoiding a food reward and this exceeds the $100 but it is something I've always wanted to do...)

Also, someone else mentioned the photoshoot, which I remember you wanting to do on your last trip with Marc. That may be a nice idea, since it's also a keepsake.

I'm here to support you girlie! And like I just told Crissy:

One. Day. At. A. Time.

That's my motto! (Whatsa motto with you?)

Just gotta say I'm loving all of these suggestions! I really like the deposit for a bounceback idea. :thumbsup2

OOOH I had forgotten about the GF spa, you have always wanted to get over there....I think a massage or a pedicure would be a great treat to have in the middle of the trip to relax you and rejuvenate you at the same time!!! I really like that idea too LOL!!!!

OH-ooohhhhhhhh yeah Cirque!!!! We're doing that too! That's a winner right there!!!

OH-ooohhhhhhhh yeah Cirque!!!! We're doing that too! That's a winner right there!!!

That was my first suggestion but I let it be. Don't know why.

Perhaps because I'm bitter that the show is dark the week we're there. I've seen it before and all but...well...where's a pouting emoticon when you need one?

LL - Cirque is a great idea. If you've never seen any of them, Bravo has them on every now and again. And I bet you could rent the DVDs from the library.

What about a tour or some nice Disney jewelry? The Wishes Fireworks cruise is fun. Or what about some kind of spa treatment at SSR or the Grand Floridian? I know whatever you decide, you can do it!:thumbsup2
I like the idea of a nice jewelry.

Oh, I like the new ticker!!! Very cute!

Hmmm, ideas for the bribe -- I mean, the motivation! :rotfl: (By the way, I laughed out loud when I read that comment you made about being child-like and needing bribes. Have I told you the story of me riding Everest before? Before we went in 2007, I decided I really wanted a stuffed yeti from the Everest gift shop -- I had seen pics on the internet. Well, we got there, and I was a bit of a chicken. I didn't think I could ride Everest. Charles told me I couldn't have a stuffed yeti unless I rode the stupid thing, but ride it, I did. I have my yeti to prove it, too. :rotfl: Bribery can work wonders. :lmao:)

Anyway, back to the ideas...my first thought was you could get one of those snazzy Dooney&Burke bags -- the wristlets are under $100. I like the parasailing idea, too. Are you interested in doing anything at one of the spas? What about a backstage tour? I'll keep thinking...
Thanks!

Bribery goes a long long long way for me. I know how childlike it is but it works so I'll go with it.

I'm not sure if the Dooney & Burke bags are me, I don't know. Marc offered me a new park bag if I did it and I told him I didn't want one, he immediatly felt my forehead and asked if I was feeling alright. :rotfl2:

I'm not sure about a tour because then I'd have to pay for Marc too and I really want the treat to be "my" thing, is that selfish? :rolleyes1

OOH, parasailing! I'm way too afraid of heights to try it, even though it sounds fun!
I was thinking about renting a boat/jetski type thing. Or shopping for something special (and that costs $100!)
I need to stay motivated with you, so whatever I can do to help, I will! I have 5 more pounds to go before our trip. Hopefully!! So instead of grabbing a glass of wine like I really wanted, I munched on some apple slices and got on the DIS. Now, I'm going in the hot tub.
Maybe if when you feel like a peanut butter cup, you can remind yourself that you don't want it weighing you down when you go parasailing! :confused3
I know for me I am an emotional eater, and sometimes need a distraction. Like it is all mental!

I found some POR pictures from our 2008 stay. I thought I took pictures of the inside of the room, but can't seem to find them. So here are a few from the outside.

100_0211.jpg

Our room was right on the corner behind DH and DDs.

This is looking at our builiding from the bridge.

We had only two nights there on that trip, one day at MK. We were heading to Miami to take a cruise and had to stop. This was MLK weekend in 2008. I am about 99% sure that all I did was request a mansion room. The rooms were nice inside too. Nice fixtures, classic southern charm. Even though we had blechy weather, it was so beautiful and calm at POR. I KNOW you will have a great time there!!
Those are beautiful pictures! Thanks for posting them.

I've always wanted to go parasailing, I also like the idea of renting a boat because we know how much I love boats.

Sorry, I thought I had resized them! Maybe I still can.
They are perfect!

Another day added? ;)
You are a genius!

Hmmmmm...parasailing sounds like a great idea! What about the Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise??????

I will definitely be with you on the weight loss! I will be cheering right along with you as you reach for that Disney treat! I also need to lose more weight! I need to get back into working out!!!

I know you will reach your goal!
I think I'll meet my goal, I know I can do better than I have been.

You can do it!!!!!:cheer2: You have come this far---don't stop now :goodvibes Great idea about the ticker:thumbsup2

I know what you mean about school and poor eating choices. I do the same thing---not enough time in the day! I try to bring healthy food with me every day so that I do not drive through. It is hard though
Thank you!!

I emptied my wallet of all my change so I wouldn't be tempted to eat something bad out of the machines at school tonight. :thumbsup2

LL, I'm joining in with you on your Tomorrowland Challenge, if you don't mind. I need to stick with my plan, and it will be nice having someone else working toward the same goal, and 38 will put me right at a goal weight too. I think I'm make my reward a massage. I've been back and forth on the idea, so I think it will make a great reward.
Yes, you can join me!! Woo Hoo!! A massage would be a nice reward, do you know if there is a website that lists the services?

LOVE the extra night suggestion!!! :thumbsup2

I'd say spa treatment.

I would have said an MNSSHP, but you know THAT story...

Hmmm.... a photo shoot of you and Marc??

I know you've wanted to do tours as well... :confused3
I'm bummed that we don't have the option of MNSSHP. :guilty:

You know, I really like the idea of a photo shoot! Hmmm. I need to look into the pricing of those.

What a great way to keep you motivated! I like Liesa's idea of the photo shoot. If you get to your milestone it would be a great thing to have those beautiful pictures of Marc as a visual memory of what you already have acchieved! :goodvibes
I agree, that would be really nice! I'm going to research that a little bit. I keep joking to Marc that I want to re-do our wedding pictures and this would be a little bit like that.

Aww! You'll reach your Tomorrowland challenge! I know you will! You come this with the set backs you've already had. You can do this!!!

I have so many ideas running through my mind for the treat! I really like Tracy' idea about another night but I know you have school etc. The carriage ride will be lovely and romantic, parasailing would be so much fun and I know you wanted to do it, a fireworks cruise wouls also be romantic, a nice piece of jewelry would be a daily reminder of your success!

So many good things to choice from!!! Good luck! You know we're all here to support you no matter what!
I've always wanted to go to parasailing, it is probably my #1 choice right now. I don't know why I want to do it but it just seems so awesome.

So many great suggestions- I like them all! I'm not sure I have too many other unique suggestions (and I skimmed so apologies if these were already mentioned).

I like the "Tomorrowland Challenge." I could use some motivation myself. Think Mr. Moneybags would fund multiple rewards? :lmao:
I love the idea of a print, I eye those prints all the time when I'm at Disney. You are so smart!

I'll ask Mr. Moneybags for you.

I'm not sure if I like the bags or not. I was looking at the pricing of the Characters in Flight in DTD, if we did that, I'd have some money leftover too so it's on the list!!

I put the ticker up for accountability. I need it. It helps me stay focuses.

A thought just came to mind, and I wanted to share it. Someone once told me that there are two kinds of people: those who are Goal-Oriented; and those who are Reward-Oriented. Basically, those who are g/o are more intrinsically motivated and are happy keeping themselves on track as they move towards that goal. The others, the r/o's need an outside motivation (gifts, bribes, little trinkets along the way) to keep them going. They are more externally motivated. You sound like me- the r/o type. Neither is good or bad, just the way we are made and knowing that has really helped me move forward in getting things done I've wanted to- ie. my running, a crappy task I don't want to do, etc.... make small acheivable goals BUT reward yourself for each step, and soon you'll be there in no time!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

The Spa and fireworks cruises all sound like great ideas. What about Cirque du Soliel? Have you seen that?
There are no MNSSHP dates when we are there anymore, Disney cancelled them.

I haven't seen Cirque but I'm not sure if I'm feeling it for this trip.

Hmmmmm.... A Disney bribe.

Well, whenever I have extra money I like to spend it on food....a special, unplanned dinner. Is that bad....losing weight so you can eat more?

A deposit on a bounceback trip

Oh....I could go on and on, but I gotta get back to work.
You really have your thinking cap on!!

Parasailing is in the lead right now. I don't know, it just sounds like a great reward because when I started this I didn't even meet the weight limit so it just seems like it is "right" you know?

Would you have any interest in a spa treatment?

That's a wonderful way to treat yourself and something nice to look forward to. :goodvibes
I am interested in a Spa Treatment for sure. I need to look into them.

These aren't the quattro formaggi potatoes from Citricos we're avoiding, right? Because that's sacreligious. LOL J/K

No horseback riding, horses freak me out. :scared1:

I do love the idea of the photoshoot. I think that might be nice. I wonder what resorts they offer it at now.

Just gotta say I'm loving all of these suggestions! I really like the deposit for a bounceback idea. :thumbsup2
I love love love the idea for bounceback, I don't know if I could talk Marc into that though.

I think I'd like to do Cirque someday but not this trip.

I don't feel so bad being reward oriented now. :lmao:

I'm doing well so far today. Granted it's only 11AM. I've drank my protein shake and had 12 cherries for breakfast. Go me!

I'm not sure if I want to give up a night in the parks though.

I think I'd like to do Cirque someday but not this trip.

We're doing ours after AK one night. No park hours missed, unless you're hopping to get to an EMH. But, you've gotta be feelin' it. Parasailing would be a very cool thing to do!! ::yes::

I love the idea of bribery....it works for me every time!! :rotfl2:
Yes....the D&B wristlet would be cute....I carry my iPhone in mine :goodvibes
You could also get one of the Chamila/Pandora bracelets...and pick up some Disney charms at Mousegears. I think the charms were around $35 a piece. I love my bracelet :lovestruc
Pedicure/Manicure at one of the spas....although I think it would be nice to have something tangible to take with you...not just a memory :confused3
I LOVE your no dancing pin!! I have never seen that before!!! Not that I have really looked :rotfl: but if I saw it I would have known! :lmao:

Tracy

I don't feel so bad being reward oriented now. :lmao:

NO. Go US!!!

My vote is for parasailing. It is so awesome!!! It's definately the closest thing I'll ever get to "flying" because you'd never get me to go skydiving. Jump out of a plane?! No way! I'm already a nervous wreck every time I fly as it is.
