Rejected Offers Thread

This listings that are priced this high are the ones that are NOT selling.

I put in 2 bids this week on PVB contracts (both were rejected) at $170. One is still available. The other sold for $178. So it seems the market is actually in the $175-$180 range based on the sales. Ultimately (just like in the housing market) the listing price means nothing - it’s totally arbitrary, the sold price is what matters.

Re: ADHD - pretty sure my 8yo has it but my DH is so against getting her tested or having meds because of the stigma of it. She’s an incredibly smart kid so she is able to compensate but I can’t help but think of how much easier and less stressful life would be if we could agree to address it more directly. 😪
The way I think of it is that ADHD at its core is an oversupply or undersupply of dopamine in the brain. All medicine does is help to keep things more in balance so that your brain doesn’t ignore things in search of whatever will give it the dopamine hit it is searching for (that high when buying something like a DVC contract or the “hyper focus” on a particular topic).

It saddens and angers me when I read that a parent would let their ego get in the way of their child living their best life possible …. but I am rooting for you and your kiddo!

Just curious if anybody here has found success with ADHD meds curing or even curbing addonitis. 🤔

Board sponsor now has contracts listed with the tag, Add-On-Itis Remedy…. “It is a common ailment known as Add-On-Itis® which causes anxiety about not having enough points. The only known Remedy is acquiring additional points with an Add On. Purchase a select listing tagged "Add-On-Itis® Remedy" now and receive a bonus of an exclusive Add-On-Itis® Tote bag (fulfilled post closing) No prior sales are eligible for this promotion. Hurry, the limited time offer ends soon!”

…odd. Lol

Yeah, I am an IP lawyer and was extremely skeptical when I saw that —I haven’t actually checked their trademark filings but I am skeptical that they would prevail on the merits.

AUL-S offered $112pp seller pay MF. Rejected and was countered with $118pp. Countered back at $115 and was rejected. This was a hard one to let go but it's best for now. Maybe another will come along if I decide I still want AUL-S

What was the asking price?

For most of the year sellers were staying pat at $140pp before one large seller flooded the market and a few international sellers took advantage of the high dollar….

You have much more willpower than I do.

Mine goes: I offer - they counter- I say OK, absolutely

$120pp
I’m guessing it’s a 160pt contract that is asking $129… getting it down to $118 sounds like a big win to me….

We had set ourselves a budget based on cost pp over the life. Coming up $3 put us over that so the additional $3 put us over even more. It was hard to say no, but we told ourselves we would.

$118pp for 160pt non-stripped AUL-S?

What if you just banked and rented out the 2024 points? Is that any different than waiting a year and paying $109pp?

When I added some AUL-S earlier this year I had the excess points rented within a few days with https://dvcrequest.com/ and the money was in my bank account 48 hours later.

We were still weighing all the pros and cons BLT vs AUL-S. At $112 we were ready. We also asked for some other small concessions they didn’t agree to that was equal to $1.40pp. But I do see your point and we may end up regretting it.

I think your budget is too low for AUL-S unless you factor in renting points…. especially a FEB UY, which is a lot more rare than the MARCH UY for the subsidized contracts.

Possibly. A few have closed at $115. Your contracts had banked points which I think holds a lot of value, this one wasn’t stripped but didn’t have any banked.

Right, but if you hypothetically end up waiting a year and purchase a non-stripped contract for $109, wouldn’t it effectively be the same thing as the current contract after renting?

I’d have to do the math but that seems possible.

Not that you should do it if you are equally happy with BLT and could get a better deal…. I was only working within the thought bubble of the AUL-S contract now vs waiting….
Once we go to Aulani next month I may just come back be willing to pay more. As of now we were wanting to purchase purely for points to use everywhere.
