Has anyone ever done the rehitching ceremony and if so what was your experience?

Thanks

I'm hoping to do this in August too. Hope someone can give us some thoughts. I saw some reviews of this someplace and for the life of me, I can't remember where it was:confused:

It is a blast. DW and I did this last year for our wedding anniversary. They had a CM come out and do the short ceremony. He commented to everyone that we had been living in sin for 8 years and were finally making it official. He had us stand and Mickey stood in as best man. He then asked me, "Do you?" and I said yes. He asked DW, "Do you?" and she replied "Do I what?" He then said even louder, "Lets try this again, Do you?" and she said yes. Then we had to kiss to the count of 100. Afterwards, Mickey tried to steal DW away. They then bring you a cake out for dessert and this thing will feed 6-8 people easy. I hope you have as much fun as we did.

I would love to do this too. DH and I will be celebrating 20 years at the end of May and will be in WDW a month later (on my birthday). :D

Call and make your PS for the Garden Grill in EPCOT. When you do, tell them you want to do the rehitchin ceremony. They may not know what that is but have them put it on there anyway. This is something the Garden Grill does and not Officially Disney. If you go during off times, then you get more character interaction and less people watching, peak times is the other way around.

Highly recommend this as a very special Disney memory. My DW and I did it for our 25th -- we had Mickey, Pluto and Chip 'n Dale all around us, plus servers! Plan for a late lunch or early dinner; less people means more character interaction!

We also got a certificate -- suitable for framing! -- from the event.

When you check in at Garden Grille, tell the CM you want to do the rehitching ceremony after your meal. Sometimes they've missed it on the PS, so it is a good idea to remind them when you check in. Then they will write it on your card.

One more tip: if Sam (CM) is working, ask for him as your server/rehitch-er. Sam did ours and several others that day and he is a 1st class HAM! He does a great job on the ceremony and plays it up well.

We're booked for May 10. Hopefully we won't be too embarrassed.

Can't wait. And will definitely ask for Sam.

We're booked May 5 (DH has no idea). The kids think it's a scream.

Is it possible to do the re-hitchin' at the ice cream social? DH and I just celebrated our 20th last sunday, and will be in WDW with 3 of our kids in June. I would love to get re-hitched (as a surprise for DH and kids), but have PSs all planned for major meals. TIA

and booked for the icecream social on July 2 for our 20th! I'm so glad I found this thread! I won't tell the kids, but I did tell DH! He's a shy guy and the rest of us don't like the spotlight much either, but this sounds so "magical"! Thanks!

:p
I did rehitching in March for our 10th anniversary--it was a surprise for the family and was perfect. Micky took photos with us, and we got a cake(saying happy anniversary) and a certificate. My hubby is a good sport and an old romantic, so the surprise didn't shock him too much.

I had learned on dis-boards that sometime they forget, so to remind the host when you check in and your server--OF COARSE, I did.

We did it at an early PS dinner time--5pm so we got tons of character time for our 1 and 3 year old too.

DEFINATELY WORTH IT!

Happy Anniversary to you all!!
