Will we still be able to buy the regular park hopper passes at the disney stores????

I'm pretty sure you can until 12/31. After that you will only be able to buy the new MYW tickets.

Bummer, I'm not going to be able to buy them before that!! I need the "never expire" and hopper pieces, and I don't know what the price increase will be in January. Oh well.

Let me give you an example of prices come January 2. This info came from a CM who recently received training in the new tickets.

The new tickets will be one day/one park & will expire in fourteen days (I don't know if that is from date of purchase or first day of use). A five-day park pass (one day/one park) will be $193 (I don't know if that is with or without tax). For that five-day pass the add-ons will be: $35 for the park hopper feature; $45 for 3 plusses; &/or 435 for the pass to never expire. The never expire price goes up with an increase in the number of days on the pass.

I just checked AAA & our local military base prices today. Both still have current 4-day & 5-day park passes available. If it is possible, buy your tickets NOW.

Another piece of advice I was given: do NOT ask Guest Services to read your park ticket to see homw many days are left - go directly to a turnstile& put the ticket in the machine first.

As of January 2 all tickets will be plastic & will use biometrics.

CMs at the turnstiles can NOT read a ticket to tell you how many days are left on your ticket. The only information we can give you at the turnstiles is either "Yes, you have at least one entry left on this ticket because it just worked" (and if you only had 1 entry left on it, you've just used it), or "No, you do not have any entries left on this ticket"

Guest relations in the parks (both the lobby and the window) are the only folks that can read a ticket and tell you how many days (and/or plusses) are left on the ticket.

I just bought a 5 day park hopper at my local Disney Store for $245. If I understand JudithM's figures correctly, I'd pay $263 by waiting o buy a comparable pass(never expire, park hopping priveleges)until I was at the parks in 2 1/2 weeks.
As far as finding out how many days are left, we've just made it a habit on our last day at WDW to go to guest relations, find out how many days are left, then write it on masking tape that we afix to our pass for next trip. Right now I have 3 passes sitting in (shhh! Secret hiding place) with varying days left, but I know how many, because they all have little pieces of masking tape on them with a number written.

Guest Services at the resort can also tell you what's left on a ticket.
