? reguarding referrels

A friend of ours asked us about joining DVC and then signed up.She said they asked if anyone had referred them and she gave them our name. I was wondering if I have to call members services too in order to get the referrel bonus or if them giving our name is enough.Also, we are from N.J. and I know certain states do'nt allow the referrel bonus,is N.J. one of them? Any info would be appreciated.

They will contact you. If your state is one that does not allow the referrals (as ours is), you will get a nice thank you letter explaining why they can't give you anything.

I don't know which stated do and don't. I only know that Minnesota doesn't. I believe the bonus is $200 Disney Dollars that can be applied to dues if you choose.

The bonus is on a sliding scale. It starts at $200 either in Disney dollars, a credit towards your dues, and a few other choices. Your 2nd referral it goes up I think to $250...the max you can get in 1 calendar year (Jan-Dec) is $1000. Different states have limits as to the amount you can recieve in 1 year. Some states you can't get anything. I saw a list on a mailing I got recently from disney that listed it all but I cant find the mailing now. I know that NY and FL is able to get them with no limits.
