I'm pretty upset. As of this morning, USPS website doesn't show mine as delivered. I sent it priority mail which is supposed to take two days. Today is the fourth mail day since I sent it. I'm hoping it will arrive today.

:Pinkbounc I got Mail!!! :Pinkbounc

WOO HOO!! How excited was I when I saw that I had received a package today AND when I saw tarmand's name on the return, what are the odds that she would send to me!!! WOO HOO!!

I received a hard cover edition of Chef John Folse's Plantation Celebrations, a SIGNED copy I might add!! I cannot wait to go camping this weekend and look over every recipe. Thank you tarmand and Thank you Meriweather for putting together another fun exchange! :cloud9:

Yay! I'm so excited that you got it. You don't know how hard it's been not to tell you I had your name. :teeth: I hope you like it. Ever since I got your name, I knew I had to find something special. Not only is he a great chef, but an excellent storyteller and Louisiana tour guide! I hope you enjoy reading about all of our plantations and wonderful food that we love to eat!

Hi Dyan!

I'm glad you like your cookbook. I thought the book was pretty neat. Thank goodness not all the recipes contain Jack or that'd be one, well, interesting dinner. Yikes! :crazy2: I'm also happy that you like your magnets. :)

OOOOOHHHHH my gosh!! My cook book arrived today. And boy is it a doosy! Cindy sent me her local Junior League of Parkersburg WV. It is entitled Everything but the Entree. I have tomorrow afternoon off so I plan to have some me time and enjoy my new book. Also included was a seasoning mix from Tastefully Simple. We don't have that brand in Oklahoma so it will be a real treat to try. Thanks Cindy!!!!! :cloud9:

You're quite welcome! Hope you enjoy the book -- I love giving gifts that also give back to others (proceeds from the book go towards the JCL's many programs for children)! I've given that book to many family members and friends (like you!) and of course have a copy myself; I know almost all of the "contributing" authors and with few exceptions I really like it! (The exceptions, in case you're wondering now: that it's hard to keep the darn book open because of the hardback cover and that it's too pretty to keep in my immediate cooking area...I tend to get a little wild when I cook -- most of my books have "splotches" to prove it!)

As for me -- I received my book today (clhcpaca). Apparently Gilroy, California is the Garlic Capitol of the World -- who knew? :confused3 (Not me -- though I do now, haha! :teeth: ) So "California Cindy" sent this "West Virginia Cindy" a copy of "The Garlic Lover's Cookbook." LOOKS GOOD -- I love garlic, and so does DH, and hey, it's good for us! Wha'ts not to love! Can't wait to try a few of the recipes out...

It reminds me of a book I have on Vidalia ONions (my sister used to live in Vidalia Georgia). In that book, they actually made cookies using onions. I see this cookbook has a recipe for garlic pudding -- could be an interesting complement to the cookies! :goodvibes

Thanks again, Cindy! :earsgirl:

Sorry, I didn't post earlier, but the kiddies 'killed' our computer and this is the first time I have had a chance to use the library computer to post. I received my cookbook 2 days ago. It is titled ...
"Puttin on the Peach Tree"
Wow, what an awesome cookbook from the Junior League, Decatur Georgia.
DH was SOOOO happy. He snatched the book to look for HIS favorite recipe--- pecan pie!! His theory, that coming from Georgia it they should have several GREAT recipes. :rotfl2:
The hardest thing is trying to decide which recipe to try first!!!
