Who loves this. It just isn't a summer car ride without some good reggae music on, especially with the top off.
Can anybody recommend some groups for me list to?
I already listen to the obvious - Bob Marley, Sublime, some Hawaiian groups like Hoonua, and Ten Feet. Always looking for some new stuff.
Non Reggae but I'm also definitely a parrothead.

I love reggae but I also throw Shaggy and Baja Men (Baha Men?) into my category of reggae and don't know if they belong there.

Another DISer recommended 'The Barefoot Man' to me. I down loaded and burned a CD of their music and it is really good.
:D

Don't forget Jimmy Cliff and Third World !!!! Good stuff. I also love good calypso steel pan music. Of course we hear it a lot down here, and it is so beautiful when your sitting next to the water sucking down a cocktail and listening to steel pan. Ahhhhh....I may have to do that tonight.

Ya Mon!!! Reggae is my favorite genra of music at the current time. If you want brand new stuff some of the artists to look for are:
Sean Paul
Elephant Man
Sanchez
Bounti Killer
Mama Sizzla
Wayne Marshall

If you are looking for some good old fashioned Reggae that still jams today, look for:
Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers
Byron Lee
Bushman
Tony Greene
Cecile

That should get you started. If you want more, just let me know.

Wow, thanks guys. I put Shaggy in their too. I also like Sean Paul. This is a bunch to get started.

I might be able to recommend some Hawaiian music (I live in Hawaii). I don't listen to the Hawaiian radio station frequently, but here's the link:

On the left there's a link to the "on air broadcast." I think you have to register, but it looks simple.

Keahiwai is pretty popular right now. I like Kapena for the more up-tempo stuff (they've been around a long time). I also like Kalapana, Willie K, Israel Kamakawiwoole (Brother Iz), and Na Leo Pilimehana for smoother sounds. Might not be as reggae-sounding as you'd like though.

For good smooth island like music Jack Johnson is really great. I also like The Surfers who are actual surfers and aren't that bad at music.
