Hello all. I am reporting on my experience only, others may have totally different views. My daughter is 12, so she may have been more prone to pick up on it than younger children. I can't speak for them. I thought it was just totally vulgar and offensive. At one point, a large breasted woman had a man's face rubbing in her cleavage. One scene had two men holding a woman off the ground, one holding the arms and another holding the legs, as he stood between the legs. Then they both gyrated their hips back and forth one towards her head and then the other towards her other end. I am sorry to be so graphic but I just want to clarify what I took offense to. These were not the only actions that I thought were over the top for a "family-oriented" show. I guess I might be a prude though.
As for the rest of the trip, the only really outstanding part of the trip was that we got into each of the attractions with extremely short wait times. That was nice. The hotels were nice, but for each of the hotels I stayed in, I had a view of a stone or brick wall. Not exactly what I was expecting given the price I paid for this trip. The tour director was very nice and helpful and actually commented on her experience in the "Disney" college program. She was a gem. The time we spent at the attractions was quite short though. The food was generally good. There was an occasional poor meal but I think that was cultural differences more than anything else.
I think two tour directors, like Disney has, would have been nice. But certainly not necessary on this particular trip. The large majority of people along for the trip were nice and friendly.
I did not see a great effort by Tauck to design activities at the sights we visited to especially engage the children. I have read the itinerary for the
ABD and they seems to do a better job in this regard, with children's guides to the louvre and the colosseum. Tauck did not have any activities like this.
Maybe I am spoiled by
Disney cruise line level of service.
As with anything, YMMV. I will probably not travel with Tauck bridges again, not because it was bad, it was not bad, it was really nice. I think I will get more bang for my buck with ABD. This is my opinion only. Thanks for reading.
