There are three seats to a car and they are one after the other just like this :) :) :)

One space mountain car fits six people, but all six are in a straight line.

LOL @ kim.

Did they change it? Didn't it used to seat 4 and you sort of sat in between someone's legs???? Maybe I'm confusing it with another ride....?

When SM was new, it was like the Matterhorn Bobsled at Disneyland - you did sit between the legs of the person behind you. Now there are three people to a car, one behind the other, each person in a separate seat, with two cars hooked together to make 6 per ride.

The seating is probably more like this::earseek: :earseek: :earseek: for me, anyway.

If you have long arms, you can probably sit behind her and put your hands on her shoulders if she gets afraid. I recall doing this when DD first rode SM. It only took one ride before she got used to it, and then we rode it over, and over and over...:D

I am always afraid my goofy kid will try to stand up!

thats what i did I sat behind my son and put my hand on his shoulder till i figured out he was lovin it.:D :D

Not a seatbelt so much as a large lap bar that comes down and holds you in. The scariest seat is the first one in the first of two cars. There's really not much in front of you, so you feel like you are falling off the track.

Do you have any choice of the seat you're in? I'm thinking my DS6 would like me behind him, but not if he is in the first seat.

the CM will ask, "how many". Say "two, it's our first time, no front seat, please" and I'll give you great odds that you'll get just what you want.

It's a little noisy and kind of dark. Speak clearly and make eye contact with the CM. It will be great fun.

Thanks Rhonda93! There is something about the space theme that has this ride on the top of his list!! Any advice on what to expect is very much appreciated. I've found that when my boys know what to expect when, they can take things in stride. It's the unexpected that gets them!

Don't forget to ask the CMs at the end of the ride for your neice's Magical Moments certificate! My son got his certificate for riding SM for the very first time this last May..he got a big kick out of it..but ya gotta ask!!

My Godchild & her mom stood in line for this ride & when she saw that she could not ride in the same seat as her mom, she refused to ride it.

I always ask, and get, the 3rd or 6th seat, a bit more leg room for this 6'6" guy. Enjoy.

That's the truth Dan. CM's are usually very accomodating about things like that. If you're willing to wait another minute or two, you can have just about any seat you want. (I have a thing for the front seat on RNRC;) )
