Has anyone stayed in a condo at the Regal Palms Resort? Did you enjoy your stay? Was the pool/slides/lazyriver as nice as they look in the pictures?
I can get a 3 bedroom condo for under $600 for a week in November and must admit that I´m tempted.
Not doing Disney that week, so proximity to the parks is not an issue.

We've stayed here several times and have enjoyed it. That being said, we think the resort staff is terrible. Very nice people, but they are ALWAYS short staffed.

Depending on time of year, pool area can be crowded. But if you are going at a slow time, it will be fine. And it does look like it does in the pictures.

The townhomes are basic but spacious with PLENTY of room to spread out.

I would recommend renting privately since people who have had problems seemed to have rented directly with the resort.

I would suggest reading the reviews on tripadvisor.com.
Good luck to you.

Thanks! I checked Tripadvisor but it´s always good to hear from someone you "know", ha ha. I´ve just contacted one of the owners directly and hope to hear from him soon. Have you gone directly through the owner?
We´re going in November so I guess the pool shouldn´t be too busy then. Just hope it won´t be too cold to use it. The kids would love it.

Hi Freyja

We stayed at Regal Palms in November 2005 and had a great time. The pool is excellent and the water is lovely and warm in the 'fun pool' bits although the lap swimming pool is a bit cooler. Our DD was 5 when we went and she loved it!

We booked directly with the owner (who happened to be a doctor I work with) and the house itself was lovely. The one we rented had a huge master bedroom upstairs along with two twin rooms and then a further master suite downstairs. This suited us as there was my DH, DD and I plus our two friends so they had the 'downstairs' and our family had upstairs if you see what I mean.

Hope you enjoy it! :thumbsup2

BTW: I wanted to call my DD Freya (without the 'j') but DH vetoed it! :sad1:....it's still one of my favourite names though! :goodvibes

One of my co-workers stayed there with her family. No complaints at all. Her kids loved the pools, slides and lazy river.

I had already decided to book a 3 bedroom townhouse in Regal Palms for $830 inclusive of everything, but just got an offer for a 3 bedroom townhouse for $575 (also inclusive of everything). You really can´t beat that for 8 nights, can you?

This is the place: http://www.vrbo.com/172502
Anyone stayed here?

Freyja: You certainly can't beat that price. When you go, you'll have a hard time understanding why people would want to pay more money to stay in a hotel room.

Have an awesome trip!

Thanks Heather!

I´m sure we´ll have a great time. I´m really trying to keep our cost down (without giving up too much) since the exchange rate for us is now 20% higher than it was when we bought our tickets. Meaning our total budget is up 20%. That´s a lot of $$$ when travelling with a family of 7!!!

I think you got an awesome price. We paid that price a couple of years ago, but the prices for Regal Palms has gone up. If I could get it for that price, I would definitely take it. Have a great trip.
