Regal Eagle made me sad.

We just ate there for the first time and absolutely loved the chicken. It was fantastic, and can't wait to go back. Pickles were lovely as well.

Yeah. Tough to go to places outside of Texas and find good BBQ brisket. They are out there though. Had great BBQ in Charleston, SC. Every region is different but good BBQ is good BBQ. I lived in the Carolinas for years and love their style. Been in Texas for 18 years and it is my favorite. I am in the Houston area so we have some of the best BBQ in the state. I already hit 54 BBQ places in Texas from the top BBQ list so always trying different and new places. It is what it is. If I went to Regal, I would play it safe and get the chicken. If I went to Polite Pig, I would get the pulled pork. Always go with the safe choice.

Food is subjective. You like what you like and I like what I like. Pizza, BBQ, bagels, fried chicken whatever it may be.

Exactly. I wouldn't get a philly cheesesteak or expect much from a pizza place in Texas like I would up in the northeast. I wouldn't get chinese food from a small town in PA either. LOL! Many people would and they do - they enjoy it. People like what they like.

Was there much hype for the Regal Eagle before it opened or when it first opened? I really don’t remember any. I didn’t even recognize the name of the place when I first opened this thread. Lol.

Yeah most Disney Vloggers seemed to have loved it.

I was looking forward to Regal Eagle this year...will have to try the chicken and hope it's good.

In 2019, the chicken salad at Flame Tree consisted of slimy, small pieces of chicken which I felt was leftover. Gross. I ate the cornbread and threw away the salad. That was the last trip to Flame Tree!

That salad was disgusting when I had it, too! Threw the entire thing out. That, combined with no air conditioning, has us at Satuli 99% of the time these days.

There was a good amount of hype -especially since the previous attempt at food service there was so bad ...and really an embarrassment. Plenty of Vlog's and Blog's hyped it and still do. Maybe hype is a strong word -but reviews and interest ...mostly good but nothing that would make you think they were serving the best BBQ out there. It's a solid attempt and MUCH better than the garbage that was offered before.

Not a fan of REGAL EAGLE, we went during November 2020 because the place was getting decent reviews...hmmm not a fan, none of the four of us will probably eat there again.

That's okay, I wasn't a fan when I ate there either. All the videos I watched leading up to it raved about the place but I was disappointed.

I watch a lot of Disvloggers so I see all the same videos where they go out to eat at a place when it first opens to get their general impressions, and that's a good base. But do they return to eat there again within 6 months? How about 6 months after that? If I don't see them ever return to a place I mark it off of my list of ones to try out on my visit.

Fyi the fish and chips from the UK is pretty much on the money! Quite impressive because good fish and chips is harder to produce than many people think.

Beer or Fish, Beer or Fish ...the struggle is real. I shamefully admit I've never had them there. I'll put them on the list for September!

Sorry I think you mis-typed...
I think what you meant to say was 'beer AND fish'....😉

After all, Epcot is all about cultural immersion!

I thought we were fortunate when Regal Eagle opened before our trip. The brisket wasn’t bad per se, but what we got really was 2oz of meat on a $15 sandwich. That was ridiculous.

The atmosphere was cool and they had some interesting sauces (if you knew to ask for them behind the counter). But like a lot of World Showcase food the prices skyrocket while portions and quality get cut. WS has really started resting on it laurels.

It pains me that another Muppet-themed eatery would be so lacking. But yeah, Regal Eagle was pretty bad and tiny portions for the price as Heather mentioned above. There's just way better food to be had at Epcot.

I'd gladly take Polite Pig and Flame Tree any day though. Here's hoping Woody's Roundup isn't bad either!

This. We do Pizze Rizzo (edited 'cause I always spell it "Pizza" out of habit, lol) just for the atmosphere so to speak, because we love the Muppets, but we had high hopes for Regal Eagle. Sam's my favorite Muppet, so I was excited to try it, but all the reviews I've heard have been so disappointing.

I finally got the chance to try The Regal Eagle out and was sadly disappointed. I'm not a bbq snob. I think good bbq can be found everywhere if cooked properly, but sadly it cannot be found at Regal Eagle. I got the brisket sandwich and it tasted like Arby's roast beef. Easily the worst item I ate all week in Disney and might be the worst bbq I've ever had. Next time I'll just stick with Flame Tree for those pulled pork cheese fries. The baked beans however were really good and I would get those again.
Haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but was looking forward to it. I liked the idea that they are showcasing BBQ from different parts of the country instead of just one style.
Have been to Polite Pig, and considering the volume they make, thought it was done very well.
