Refurbished Ipod Nanos?

Anyone purchased these before that can tell me what kind of experience you've had with them? Are they good, bad, etc.? I'm thinking of getting them for DS and DD for Christmas.

We bought our refurbished Nano last year, and it has worked great. There is no sign of it being refurbished-it looks and plays like brand new. We got it directly from the company, and it came with a 1 year warranty, which was nice to have, even though we didn't need it.

We bought a refurbed mini and it had a problem after a few weeks, they replaced it with a brand new one at the Apple store.

I bought a laptop refubished, and I was talking to the staff before getting it, and all it is...is somoene could have ordered one and refused it, they sent it back...may not of even have been opened! and if it was used, Apple has a very stricked return policy, it has to be done with a few days, if I remember correctly. I love my refubished laptop, it saved me hundreds of dollars for aq better system!

I bought 4 of the$29.00 shuffles last year, and one of the 149.00 2nd generation Nanos. We have had no problems whatsoever with any of them, infact I purchased the 49 dollar shuffle this august for X-mas and another Nano for my son cause he's always using his Dads!

I ordered the silver iPod Nano 2GB today for my DS 7. It was only $79 and free shipping.

I think they probably had more than one in stock. I called and ordered it.

I bought one last year for DS for Christmas, and it worked great until I put it through the wash. Can't blame Apple for that one though!

I bought one of the refurbished Nanos last year for DD's Christmas. The only problem was that the language was set to Chinese (or Japanese, or something like that). I turned it on, and all the words were Chinese characters! Luckily, I had a Nano already, so I knew where to go in the menus to change the settings to English. After that, no problems whatsoever. I may buy DH a refurbished shuffle this year.

check www.apple.com they have all different types. I got a 2GB for $79. The lady at apple said it was a great price. New they sell for $150. the refurb. were $99 and they just lowered them to $79

My SO has a refurbished Shuffle that I bought him last year and I have a refurbished nano that I love. We haven't had any problems with them.

Has anyone had luck getting a refurbished 3rd generation Nano (the new one with the bigger viewer)? DD12 and DS12 both want one for Christmas but it would be nice to get them the newer one. Is is WORTH spending more on the new one vs last year's model????

I'm wondering this too. My dd wants a Nano and I would love to get her the new one with the video screen. I bought her the refurbished Shuffle last year and she proved that she will take care of it (that was our test!). I am going back and forth between the $99 refurb Nano and the $149 new 3rd generation Nano now. I doubt we will see any refurbished 3rd gen Nanos before Christmas.

BTW, Target has had a bunch of the older Nano accessories marked 75% off. They were getting picked over when I was there earlier this week but they still had several types of cases at mine.
