Hello everyone!! Curious to know if the new test track will be handicap accessible? My son has Muscular Dystropy and has been able to ride in the past, but now it has become too difficult to get him in and out. This is by far his favorite ride!! Thank you in advance for any information.

they will be the same cars just painted differently and stuff added to them to to fit the theme. they put some of the new cars in use in the old ride to see how they would be. those cars was the blue ones with the chevy logo on them.

From what I had read, the ride cars will be re-decorated and re-themed as disney David mentioned and the ride track will remain the same, but also re-themed.
Having ridden it many times, I think it is very unlikely that they could make a safe wheelchair accessible ride car. There are too many things about the ride that would make it impossible to attach a wheelchair securely enough to the ride vehicle - sudden stops, swerves and the 60 mile per hour loop outside.

I am hopeful that thy could come up with some sort of accessible car that old be easier to get into. Maybe, having the side open up or something so the passenger with a disability doesn't need to be lifted over. It is a 2 person, not real easy transfer for DH and I to get DD in and out.

Always ask to load upstairs and ask for a booster seat. The booster seat makes the transfer almost level.

Thank you, everyone, for your comments. I did not know about the booster seat, maybe we will try it this year. Getting him in has never been an issue, getting him out on the other hand, has. Thank you all again!!

Melissa I don't have a picture of the booster seat but it makes it high enough that my daughter's hips are close to being level with the car. Without it she is unable to lift herself up onto the side of the car to transfer. There is also a transfer system available for Kali River Rapids in Animal Kingdom and I do have a picture of that if you want to take him on that ride. It basically works like the bump steps at the pools.

I would love to see a picture of what you are talking about!! I think it would be easie for me to assist him with transferring!! Thanks!
