The Florida Attorney General has issued a consumer alert for customers of Dollar and Thrifty car rentals. Many customers were apparently charged bogus toll-by-plate charges from 2011 to 2019. The rental car companies have agreed to pay refunds in response to consumer complaints to the AG's office.

I gotta say Dollar is real sleazy. On a few occasions the rental agent looks me in the eye and tells me my personal sunpass wont work on rental cars anymore and that I need to opt into theirs. Of course I know better. But lots of people fall for it. I travel to Dallas a lot and it happens down there too.
