Just got off the phone with "Mindy" at WDTC/CRO (shes a sweetie) and she told me that starting some time this August or September that all moderates and all deluxe resorts were going to be fitted with a mini-fridge. She also stated that it will take up to five months to complete the update. I asked if this was a rumor or fact and she said "fact" !! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :earseek:

There have been several people on the resorts boards who have confirmed this. Many Deluxes already have the fridges in place alreadyand Disney is moving quickly to get them in the remaining resorts.

This is really nice but I still wish that they would install coffee makers. It would make life so much simpler.

Hmmm.... we stayed at YC last July..... I thought it had a coffee maker. Maybe not.

Yes, but are they going to be full of stuff to buy (at ridiculous prices) with absolutely no room for anything?

The deluxes have always had the mini bar/snack tray. I don't think they'll put anything in the fridge.

Olaf......that was the first thing I thought of and I did ask Mindy that question. She said "they will be empty".

When we travel we see more and more motel rooms with refrigerators and even microwaves and these are not high end rooms. Seems to me that the Values need such amenities even more than the upscale resorts as those are the people who are more apt to really use them. I think it would be a savings for DW as well as people would not be loading up coolers with ice and such. People who are going to go to the trouble of packing snacks and such for the room are not going to be out and about spending much money anyway. They could have a grocery section, with Disney prices, in the food courts and possibly make more dollars that way.

Just re read that and I don't mean to say that the moderates and other resorts do not deserve such amenities. Would be wonderful for all.

While I am dreaming would it be too much to ask for a comfortable chair in the Values? Hey, can't hurt to ask. LOL

(I know someone is going to ask why I don't stay at a moderate to get these perks. Cause I am cheap and besides I have finally learned how to get to the AS's and am too darned old to learn anything new. ) :sunny:

Hi, I just stay ed at the CBR***and left before Frances! My room had a refrigerator (I requested one) and a very used looking coffee maker! Had I known it would be there, I would have brought some of my favorite coffee! By the way, my refrigerator was empty. I would request to have one in my room before you get there, or you may have to wait for mousekeeping to bring you one.

This will really be our first Family Trip as I took my 1st trip with just me and the kids:):Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :earsgirl:

I had not thought about the fact that they were not in the rooms at the time of check in. What do we do if we stop for groceries on the way in? If we cannot check in until later I would hate for anything to spoil. Any ideas? Can I call them the week before or so and request the fridge be in the room so I can place the food in there?

Jenlovesdisney.....plain and simple, YES. Who did you book thru?
If you did it on your own, just call CRO and add it. If you booked thru anywhere else, ask them to add this to your request's. Are you in a value, mod, or deluxe?

We booked through a TA, so I will call them on Tuesday. I may have already requested it and not remembered. We are at the moderate resort CBR. If we stop for food on the way in and get there about 12 pm will they hold our food in a fridge somewhere?

request that the fridge already be in your room and turned on.
If it's not, house keeping usually only takes 15-20 minutes to bring it to you. You cud also buy (when you get your food) one of those cheap styrofoam coolers to store your perishables in till you get to the room. Use ice of course

That will be what we have to do I guess. But maybe we should just use one of the delivery services that will bring you food. Does anyone know how this works? I have seen a few posts about them but not sure if we can specify a delivery time.
