I just bought one at a gas station. They're cheap in america compared to where I'm from.

No longer the case at all, or just when park hopping? I was reading the cited thread, and that author seems to indicate you have to use all 3 FPs (or have them expire) before you can book a 4th tier 1 attraction in the same park. Is that old info now?
If you're park hopping you can do what I did. If you're staying in Epcot, for example, you have to use your tier 1 and 2 tier 2 before getting another.

Thank you for clarifying. I am not park hopping so is it correct all my three have to be used before booking a fourth?
Thanks.
Same thing I have observed in many (7ish, multiday) trips 2016-2018. In fact, I often use this to acquire a bunch of anytime FPs. I grab FPs (over and over again) for rides that are down. And they convert to anytimes. But I have also never seen FPs not available when a ride is down. Just more data points...
I believe it depends on why it goes down. Weather or maintenance. Not sure I am following the conversation precisely, but one of the insufferable dimwits on Backside of Magic podcast has seen FP supply pulled from a ride when it goes down for some unplanned reason.
DINO went down, became unavailable. Notice the difference in MDE language from an attraction that just has no inventory remaining.
Could be. I don't have a belief. Just noting b/c previous posts did not discern amongst anything unplanned.I believe it depends on why it goes down. Weather or maintenance.
So if you book a FP for TT when it goes down and it converts to an anytime/any ride Fp, is that good only for that park. We park hop so if we book a TT that converts while we're at Epcot at lunch if we were hopping to HS for dinner and F! could we use the anytime FP there? It will normally be park specific. If you are hopping then maybe stop by guest relations and see if they can change it.So if you book a FP for TT when it goes down and it converts to an anytime/any ride Fp, is that good only for that park. I was there June 28 through early afternoon on July 4th. I was solo. I couldn't get any to show up via refresh in Hollywood Studios, only Figment would show up in Epcot, Got a late evening dinosaur that I kept trying to move to afternoon but never got that afternoon slot so I stood in line which wasn't too bad, and got a Jungle Cruise, POTC and lots of Voyage of the little mermaid and Small World if I wanted but couldn't find any for the other attractions in MK on the day I went even HM.
I figure the days I went into each park was a huge factor. They were all very busy on each day that I went.
Keep trying to move it up, check continually, at random times, when you happen to think of it, between now and your trip.Any suggestions? The only FP I could get for SDMT is for 6:25 p.m. It's a must for us as we weren't able to ride last trip and aren't going to wait 90 min plus (we have to do parent swap). We went there at rope drop but it was down and so were unsuccessful. I don't want to drop the FP, but with it being so late, we can't really add anymore FP for our only MK day. Is is best to just keep our FP?

Otherwise, keep it. There are still FP at MK after 6:30
