Refillable mugs @ YC

I'm confused about refillable mugs at YC. I was under the impression that guests could purchase a mug for about $10. However, on another board I saw a post that said four mugs (each in different colors) were in their YC concierge room at check-in. What's the deal? Do they only charge you if you actually use the mugs (sort of like the mini-bar)?? Or, are they free for concierge guests?

The mugs are in all the rooms at check-in. If you use them they will charge your room $10.99 each (+ tax and I think + 18% gratuity). We bought ours at Hurricane Hanna's before the room was ready, but probably would have anyway to save the 18% gratuity.

Just to clarify a little bit.....the mugs in the concierge rooms are not free. If you use them, the cost will be added to your room charge. They are slightly cheaper at Hurricane Hannah's.

Doesn't really make much sense to buy refillable mugs (unless you want them as a souvenier), since the lounge is available to you for all your beverages.

You can refill your mug poolside (Hurricane Hannah's), easier than going back to the lounge.

Doesn't look like they still do it but 2 years ago you could refill your mug at the restuarants (Cape May, Yachtsman). I missed (by one week) a bartender at Hurricane Hannah's who was refilling the mugs with blender cocktails (I assume he got great tips).
