Stayed at CBR last year and this year will be at POR. wondering if we can bring the mugs we had last year instead of buying new? Not sure if they are different per resort or different per year?:confused3

Ok flame suit on...you are supposed to buy your mugs new each year, each resort. I have seen people using mugs that are from different resorts, different years, baby bottles, rubbermaid bottles etc...there are ALOT of people that do not play by the rules..I admit when we stayed at the CBR twice in one year I just use the mugs I already had, since they were the same anyways.

I have never seen a CM stop someone from using the "wrong" mugs. Be prepared to be roasted on this topic.

you are supposed to get new cups each time you go. However... I saw many refilable mugs from many years ago (Dixie Landings). THe mugs this year are the same as last year with TYOMD. Hope this helps, but not really. If you are the type of person whod oes the right thing, then you will buy new ones your next trip.

Think about the refillable mug as being like a set price for a buffet restaurant. You pay once and then eat / drink as long and as much as you want while you are in the restaurant (the equivalent of your hotel stay). Once you go home, you wouldn't expect to come back to the restaurant in 6 months and eat for free ["but I paid last November"] right? Under the same logic, you wouldn't expect that a one time mug purchase buys you "free" beverages in perpetuity.

Just an FYI:

It has been noted that a few CM's are now approaching guests with old mugs.

We witnessed some customers being asked to leave the Beach Club Marketplace because they were using plastic (non WDW) cups at the drink station.

Actually they were asked to leave when they got mouthy with the CMs. The CMs were very nice about asking them not to use the regular plastic cups and pointed out that the drink station was only for those purchasing drinks or using a refillable mug.

The customers got really nasty with the CMs and in the process, it was discovered that they weren't even staying on Disney property! They had left EPCOT and walked to the BC just to get free drinks!

the 2008 ASM don't have the date on them. I purchased one last Feb but it was not the YOAMD 2007 mug, i guess an older style. i do remember a CM question someone about the mug they were using as the design was different. The CM was right at the station doing some refills. For the sake of $12 i will be buying a new one. I don't want to have to hide around. Plus it gives us a souvenir considering we did not get the YOAMD design.

Hi, all. My family of four drove from NJ to WDW. We spent our first night, (6/23) at All Star Music - the Jazz Building. We've never been in a value resort before, and were pleasantly surprised. The room was perfectly adequate for my family. I was expecting a shoe-box with a bed. It really wasn't bad at all. The pool was fun - but crowded. The food court was pretty good, but also kind of crowded. My kids enjoyed the large icons and the other children. They showed Pirates of the Caribbean at night, and that was fun! It really was a pleasant surprise for us.

We checked into the Wilderness Lodge on Sunday, 6/24. We got there around 8:30 a.m. - and SURPRISE - our room was ready. We were given room 6157 - inner courtyard room with bunkbeds and a fabulous view of the pool (and bay lake). We were loving it. Our last trip we had room 6145. We were able to view the fireworks from our balcony. The pool was never overly crowded, and there was always a chair available poolside. The kiddie pool was good for my four-year old - however; he liked the adult pool with the life jacket. Roaring Forks was decent, but always crowded.

They did switch over to the new mug design, and I did see the cashiers approach people using the old design.

I wasn't too fond of the food choices (or lack of). And, my 9-year old son can eat more than 4 little chicken tenders since he is almost five feet tall! So, they should re-evaluate the kids menu.

Whispering Canyon was a fun time! We ate there twice for breakfast and once for dinner. The food was really good, and we had a blast. There was always a boat within 10 minutes of us arriving on the dock. We always managed to miss the bus we needed, but never waited more than 15 minutes for the next one. The biggest problem was trying to leave Epcot at night and having to wait for three busses before we could board.

Funny enough, every time I walked through the halls at the Lodge, I always felt like I was the only one there!

Oh, and I received five towel animals during my stay!

Any ?'s, please ask.

I have never purchased a refillable mug before, so my question is. If I never knew about this board and the rules for the refillable mug. If purchased a mug, do the CM's tell you, you have to buy a new mug every visit? I mean how would a person know if they are not told.

Just wondering? Do not flame me for this.

There is signage in the rooms and at the drink stations and food courts stating the mugs are for the current trip only. At least that is what I have seen. (And I have seen these signs for years.)

It says right on the mug free refills until the end of your stay :) Plus I think there are signs by the drink area, I am not positive as it has been 2 years since we went last

:wizard: We were there in August and were jokingly complaining to the CM when we were buying our new mugs that we liked the old design of the fatter mugs better(not for your car holder) and the CM said "you can bring your old mugs and use them instedad of buying new ones." When we acted surprised that you could do that, she assured us that you could. We just use our mugs throughout the year so they're so beat up we always need new ones. Not to mention the fact that we would never remember to pack them! :confused3

Thanks for the pics of the rules. Like I said I have not purchased one and don't plan on it, I was just wondering if this unwritten rule.

Thanks, this pretty much sums it up. This is one of the few things that drives me nuts. It's basically stealing from Mickey and we see people with old mugs all the time.

stealing from Mickey...................:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Like asking double the money for everything inside WDW isn't stealing from the general public.:lmao:

Of all the things your going to hear here, just know that there have been CM's who've said that you can bring them back every year.

Thanks everyone, and just fyi - wasn't trying to steal from Mickey, just plain old didn't know the rules and thought I would ask some veterans :confused3 - Now I know!!
