I really don't think Disney Cares . Why you ask I would think they don't or pay very little for the Soda that flows through those machines. With Coke having a strong hold on Disney I would think most of it is absorbed as advertising.

Like I said we don't do as We like getting the new mugs and use them for everyday and travel. We use the WineGlasshangers as it's easy to keep track as we sometimes will just put the mug back in the fridge.

Most of the time we fill them from our own stuff we get from the grocery store anyhow.

I do still think following rules is a moral choice but who am i to tell you what Morals to live your life from.

We had the Forever mugs as well I have even gone back through all my pictures and stuff to try to find the signage and receipts but couldn't come up with anything. I also have mugs when they printed them on the inside of the handle ResortOnly stayOnly and now the new Length of Stay ones.

G4T they wouldn't even need a barcode , They could just link it to your KTTK card and have you swipe that .

I have HUGE collection over the years, I like getting the new ones.........

If Disney doesn't care, why do they bother with the sign that states the mugs are good for only the visit in which you have purchased them?:confused3

It doesn't matter how much Disney pays for the soda, or how strong a connection they have with the Coke company. Taking something you did not pay for is stealing, period.

I'm spending a fortune at Disney already, what's another 12 bucks? I follow the rules and buy a new mug (If I want one) when I'm down there

Because they know Most Will Follow The Rules .

My point was it's not a Money expense for them enough to warrant putting something else in place (like parking at DTD and riding the SSr bus to the Parks).

They could do the Scan or a CM or even put them behind the counter like BW has.

I mean when we stayed there they didn't even ask to see our mugs at Night they just handed us 2 sodas each, for what we said, to take back to our Room. I had inquired about it one night and the CM told me not to run back and get the mugs to just stop in and let them know.

Maybe they just don't realize how big of a problem it is with all that's stated on here . But I would think in the big picture of things it's not really that much

I will be doing a split stay this year and was hoping to get a mug from both resorts. But this year they are generic so I have no remorse in using the mug from PC for drinks at the YC. If Disney wants to go back to resort specific mugs, then I will buy them, but I am not going to buy duplicate mugs.

The old mug I got from CBR way back is so old and worn looking from using to drag coffee back and forth to work, I would be embarrassed to bother to bring to Disney. Nope, it's new mugs for me or nothin'! (in this case it will be a new mug!:goodvibes)

Oh, and by the way, who cares if someone wants to send an email to an ebay seller. Why blast them? Someone said they must've had too much time on their hands? Well, aren't WE ALL guilty of that? (myself included) that we are debating for 3 pages on refillable mugs? (Yup, I got too much time on my hands too, blast me!)

I wonder if I can bring my mug from previous years and ask to pay for a refillable mug but use my old mug. I like using the service but am up to my ears in mugs and popcorn buckets! I don't need another mug!!

I would think they would. Tell them you are going green.:thumbsup2

If you have no problem paying for a refillable mug, just buy a new one, use it and toss it before you leave. No one ever said it was a rule that you had to take it home with you and keep it forever, lol.

Why pack it from home when you can get a clean, fresh mug and intend to buy the service anyway?

Susan

Being a huge fan of irony, I have to chuckle at the level of outrage a refillable mug inspires and how adherent so many are to a Disney policy that they seem to care little about. I suspect many of theses outraged rule followers have little problem driving 80+mph on the Turnpike heading to Disney and endangering other travellers.

This thread is funny! I remember in March we were filling our mug up (staying at CSR) and there was another guy behind us waiting to fill his mug. A Pop Century mug. I thought no biggie.....split stay. I think I was wrong because as I was getting some napkins, I noticed he was looking back at a CM and trying to fill his mug like he didn't want to get busted for filling his mug! I laughed so hard like "is it that hard to shell out $12 for a damn mug"! LOL I mean it is only soda after all!

Would I reuse my mug? Most likely not even though we are returning to CSR where the mugs never change but what's the point? I mean, we got our money's worth with the mug but it's ONLY $12 stinkin bucks!

Like someone else said, it's kind of a matter of "going green". Why throw a perfectly good mug away when I can recycle my old one and use it every visit. I use my mug everyday at work for water so it stays pretty clean and surprisingly the design isn't fading or cracking like I see on a lot of the older mugs.

Maybe we can organize a "mug swap", kind of like the fridge swap.:rotfl: Someone can wash it in the dishwasher in a DVC room and pass the mug along to someone else!!:lmao:

What kind of excuse is that? Have you ever heard of the saying "Two wrongs don't make a right"? :confused3

So you are saying if someone speeds, they should then feel free to break any and every rule? Or they shouldn't try to hold others (and themselves) to a higher standard of behavior? No wonder so many people feel free to act so badly.:sad2:

Don't know what the big deal is. If I was only going to stay for a day or two I probably wouldn't buy the mug as I am not at the resort that long. If I was staying a week it would make sense. If it says for this stay only then that is how you should use them.

I have never stayed at one of the resorts but we will in August and a mug is part of the package. From this thread I would assume that the mug is used at the resort only and not the parks.

Yes that's true, however since all the resorts are selling a generic mug design you can use them at any resort counter service location. The one exception is at Coronado Springs because their dining locations are not operated by WDW, so they still sell their resort logo mug.

You mean to say "you can get away with using them at any resort counter service location." Signs are still posted saying to use them only at the resort you bought them at for the length of that trip.

Actually I didn't mean to say that because common sense would say they are good at all the resorts, minus Coronado Springs because the mugs are the same design. If WDW did not want guests to use their mugs at different resorts then they would have gone back to the resort logo mugs.

I've never reused a mug, but I'd be willing to pay for a plan involving unlimited non-alchoholic beverages anywhere in the parks. I don't want dining plans--I want a drinking plan:thumbsup2
