Refillable mugs at BLT?

We have always stayed at Fort Wilderness prior to buying DVC and used the refillable mugs there. Are there mugs that can be used at BLT or do you have to go to the Contemporary to fill it, which would not be very convenient? Or is it just easier to buy pop at a store and keep it in the fridge? We'll be driving and going into town now and then anyway. We'll be staying 7 days there, then off to Animal Kingdom lodge for 5 more days. There I know you can refill one close by.

My problem with pool-based refill stations is they are only open when the pool bar is open (migt be 12 noon-6 or 8p) and I usually want refils in the am or later (after parks). Sure the stations are nice during a pool day, but it can be much easier and cheaper to buy your own and have cold ones waiting inyour fridge!

It's not really that far to the refill station at the Contemporary. You just have to use the elevator and take the walkway across. My husband did it several times during our recent trip. No worse than walking from your room to the refill location at many of the other resorts (SSR comes to mind).

We stayed at BLT and I can tell you that the refill station at the Contpemo Cafe is pretty easy to get to.

One time we were almost to the northern end, and the other time, the southern end, and I could go from my room to the cafe, using the elevators (as we were not on the 5th floor), to the skybridge, and over in no more than 5 minutes.

Thanks everyone. I will see what the walk looks like, as I haven't been to much in the Contemporary in the past, then decide. I will probably have it for the Animal Kingdom so I might just buy it while at the BLT anyway. Just keep some in the fridge too. We're staying in a studio and I'm not sure the fridge is very big too.

All DVC studios I've tried (no BLT experience) have a fridge that is larger than a typical "Dorm" fridge, nearly counter height. I'd think if you only put cans in your fridge, you could put 2-3 cases worth in there. (There is usually a rack in the door for 6 cans, plus the shelf space)

We just stayed at the BLT and the walk isnt to bad, but the mugs are smaller than they were in the past few years. Just a little annoying it would be nice if the could make them just a little bit bigger. If you are intending on using them for snacks back at the room. Sometimes we would take snacks to the contempo cafe,just buy something there ,or just make an extra trip.

When you stay at a DVC villa, it really doesn't make much sense to get the refillable mug. You have loads of space in your refrigerator, plus a freezer if you need it.
