Refillable Mug Question

If I buy a length of stay mug, how do they look up your length of stay? Or do they just set it at 14 days? We have multiple stays (split) over 10 days with reservations not always in our name. Does it matter or is just automatically set at 14 days and therefore no need to worry?

They really have no way of knowing how long you have had your mug, unless you have the previous year's design. I guess it's really based on the honour system -- they could ask you to prove you had purchased them I suppose, but I've never heard of them doing that.

If you're doing a split stay, any CM will tell you it's fine to use the same mugs. Technically the signs, and the mugs, say that they are good for length of stay in the resort where purchased. But split stays are a special case and it's just common sense that you'd be able to use the same mug for your entire vacation no matter how many resorts you had stayed in.

You'll find more threads about this on the Resorts Board, not in restaurants, since they can only be used in the food courts at the resort where you're staying.

And I say your mug is your mug, regardless of where you stay and whose name the reservation is under.

OP, yes, they will set a length of stay mug for 14 days, and since they are now RFID, they are good at all Disney resorts now, no matter where you actually buy it.

I'm not sure and I'm not sure they do. I got all of our mugs for a six night stay on January 25. The drink machines registered that 2 of them were good through 2/8 and the other one was good through 2/22. We checked out on 1/31. Whatever. We didn't break any rules, so I didn't worry about it.

Redrosesix is incorrect and speaking of the old non-RFID mug system, right?

Thanks for the info. We have 3 nts VGF under my name, 2 nts BCV under a friends name then a 3 nt cruise, then 2 more VGF nts in my name. Just wanted to be sure if I buy length of stay they will be good the entire time even after the cruise.

Correct. That was very old info. The new rules have been in place for several months. Mugs are not attached to your name. You do not even have to be an onsite guest to purchase one. Have fun!

They know EXACTLY how long you've had your mug.

I purchased the length of stay mug in Dec. They are good for 14 days. When you refill at the soda machine. The screen on the machine will tell you the date your mug expires.
