Refillable Mug Poll

DH gets a new souvie each trip. He reuses his mugs so much that they wear out between trips.

We'll repurchase - mainly because I just don't have room to take 'em with us.

Now that the design is the same 'world' wide, I wonder if disney will find the sales of mugs go down? Seems like more folks would be likely to re-use during multiple trips during the year at different resorts.

I voted for Other since I have never bought a mug. I am the kind of person who MUST have diet coke when I first wake up - similar to some coffee drinkers - and I am not going to throw on clothes and trapse to a food court first thing in the morning to get my fix - it needs to be handy. So I just bring my own diet coke and have it in my room.

Okay, I buy mugs ALMOST every visit. Not only do they make great souvenirs, but I reuse them until, either the plastic top is melted accidently in the dishwasher (DH puts EVERYTHING in the dishwasher) or it gets lost (that really cooks my last grit) I also love coffee mugs. DH thinks I need a 12 step program.

I voted just drink from the soda fountain. I have gotten the mugs several times over the years, but wind up either forgetting them or not feeling like carrying it with us, even at the resort. Most of the time it's because we've forgotten to pick it up. So it's just better for us to buy the soda as we go along.

We don't stay on-site, so we only buy the water park mugs, but they really do come in handy. They save us money on the day we buy them and we continue to use them at the hotel. They make great souvenirs too.

Can the mug be refilled at each and every Theme Park? What is the discount?

The mugs can't be refilled in the parks but you can buy a drink and pour it into your mug or get water and carry it in the mug while at the parks. The mugs can only be refilled at the resort and there is verbage on the drink machines, in the resorts, that say the mugs are to only be refilled at the resort that it was purchased and only during that stay. But as you've read many people have varying "interpretations" of this.

what we do:

if staying at the campground, we do not buy refillable mugs. we have drinks with us anyway at the camper and we have found for us getting to the places where you can fill your mug was a bother.

if staying any place else onsite however, we get a new mug each trip. (and our trips are generally one year appart and for at least 10 days. much shorter trips and the mug wouldn't be worth it to us either.)

We buy mugs every trip. But when we go next time (only a few more days ) we'll be at WLV and I don't know how close we'll be to the refill station. I'm too darn lazy to walk any great length to get pop. But we'll see.

Since you brought it up, the reason some have "varying interpretations" is because the wording on the mugs themselves was changed from a very clear "refills at the location purchased" to "refills at our resort beverage islands." If Disney cared which resort you refilled your mug at they wouldn't have changed the wording on the mugs, and snack bar/food court cast memebers wouldn't tell people that they can refill at other resorts, as has been reported. But changing the signs costs money, so I don't think they would bother with that over such a trivial issue.

I voted other, sometimes we do, sometimes we don't. Since we stay at DVC resorts, we have in the refrigerator to drink without having to go to the food court.

We bought new ones on each trip we've made because we've stayed at different resorts, on our next trip the design will have changed so we will get new again. To be honest if we could have we probably would have reused them.
