>> Refillable Mug FAQ <<

Coke freestyle machines are going to the lower the capacity at the machines. I'm not a big fan on this change. I won't purchase a mug with the new machines because I hate the way all of those taste out of there
I imagine if they go ahead they will replace each 12 spout machine with two freestyle cabinets. So I would expect each value or moderate food court to have four or even eight machines (I can't quite remember how big the current soda islands are) and deluxe quick service locations 2-4 machines. The main thing I think that slows service with freestyle is more choices means it takes people longer to decide what they want.
Also Coke Freestyle doesn't mean RFID goes away, Universal have RFID equipped Freestyle machines both in the resorts and the parks.
Personally I welcome it, the more sugar free options the better.

Soda from Freestyle machines tastes off. I think it's the shared spout.
Also the syrup is highly concentrated compared to regular fountain Coke so that may affect the flavour slightly. But usually form a Freestyle machine I choose something unusual like Peach Sprite Zero.

Yes TIW applies to the mugs at the foodcourts.

If Disney is switching to this style of mug I'm sure there will be a lot of people looking for some type of carrier for their mugs. I'm guessing Disney will start selling those, too....

you should work in their marketing dept. :)

Just imagine how much money Disney will save on those handles.

And the boxes for shipping them to WDW won't have to be slightly bigger, and they might be able to fit an extra row (column?), depending on the width of the shelves, of mugs on the shelf.

How irritating to not have handles. I like handles!

Only at the value resorts.

I cannot wait for Iger and his cronies to hit the road. This regime is the cheapest bunch of *#&$'s that have ever run the place. Mug handles? Seriously? Now I have to bring or make some sort of carrier to just to bring coffee back to the room so I don't burn my hands off. Why even give us mugs? How about we pay $20 and just hold our hands under the drink of our choice??

I hope whichever exec concocted this nonsense enjoys the addition to his/her mansion the forthcoming bonus will certainly pay for.

Wow there is some hostility over this LOL. Why the assumption that it was just because of pure greed? Maybe guests actually requested the change, not everyone needs or likes a handle on their mugs :)

Me, I hate the handles. They are awkward to fit in a cabinet and they don't sit in my cup holders.
I am so glad that they got rid of them.

You can fit 6 (even with handles!). Here's a link for the Double Duty Caddy (I used the wrong name in my previous post). It folds flat when not in use and it's easy to wipe down if anything gets spilled in or on it.
I would check out Ebay, if you really want one of these.

Cheaper and you don't have to listen to the "don't you want to have a party, so you can get this for free," spiel.

I'm guessing they'll also come out with some type of "clip on" handle for them. So now we'll pay $17 for the mug and $3 for the handle or $10 for a caarrier (if we want one). No need for them to increase the price of the mug itself, they'll just add accessories. :D
This is actually brilliant as think of the extra money that could be acquired from the "free diners" like my family whose mug is included in the dining plan.

LOL seriously, change is polarizing! Personally I also prefer mugs/tumblers without handles. They fit in cup holders and cabinets so much better.

I haven't ever had that problem when ordering online. And if I order stuff in person, I just say, "no, I don't want to have a party. If I can't order this item without having a party I guess I won't be buying it." :)

So with five mugs in our family I'm thinking maybe this was someone thinking this will stop one person from refilling multiple mugs at once and kind of forcing everyone to bring their own mug to the refill station? Then we will have to return to the room to leave them since we can't tie them by the handle to our stroller when we are done. So I guess less park time since we are walking back and forth to our room with the mugs?? I don't know. :confused3 I have my conspiracy theories :scratchin

So now I'm off to research carry bags! DH wants to just bring down a cardboard six pack holder....however....there are more options!!

I think more people will use the trays to take their mugs back to their room.

Will they remember to bring the tray back?

Do the new mugs hold the same amount of drink as the old mugs?

Around here, if you even mention a MLM company, 10 "consultants" will jump on you. All trying to get you to have a party and join their merry band of sellers.

So, if I ever want anything, I head over to Ebay.
