Hi...I'll be staying at POFQ...this isn't for another 6 months, but hey...it's never too early to start planning :thumbsup2

Can you use the refillable mugs to get free coffee at the food court?

I'm very much a coffee person in the morning...it's the first thing I have to have ;-). I don't mind heading over to the food court to get my coffee, but I'm hoping it's free with the refillable mugs.

I believe they have coffeemakers in the room too?...problem is they don't usually provide (my experience in most hotels) enough creamer or sugar (I like my coffee sweet and light). If we can't use the refillable mugs for coffee, I may just bring my own sweetner and powdered creamer (or order it with the groceries I plan on getting).

Thanks in advance...

Yes you can use your refillable mug for coffee. I did it on my trip 2 years ago at POP, last year I just used the coffee pot in the room at POR.

If you ask - you can get as much coffee for your in room coffee pot as you need.

Yes - the mugs are for coffee as well as soda, juice, iced tea, lemonade, etc.

Yes, coffee, tea, coke, diet coke, powerade and also water! We ordered a case of water from Turner Drugs, but our DD is a big water drinker and she liked the resort water in her mug. She only used 6 bottles all week, since the water got too warm too quick if she took it to the parks, so we used very little bottled water.

You can get coffee in the mug at the food court but it is really bad!!!!

Your much better off making it in your room.

You sure can use your mug to get coffee at the food courts! I did this every morning on our last two trips for my mom. I would get up first, shower, and get dressed. Then mom would get up and start getting ready and I would grab our mugs and stroll down to the food court to fill up. I would get back to the room just as mom was finishing getting dressed! Worked great!

yes you can use your mug to get coffee at the food court. Or you can make your coffee in your room. If you like it sweet and light (as I also do) grab some extra sugar and creamer from the food court to bring back to your room for your in room coffee.

You can leave a note asking for extra coffee by the coffee pot in your room. We had good luck with housekeeping every time we've done that.

And we're not all that particular about the coffee...we find the food court stuff OK. But then we're not Starbucks fans, either:laughing:

oh that's a great idea about grabbing some extra cream and sugar from the food court! I like that idea. :thumbsup2

The housekeepers leave a little "mix" packet with each serving of coffee...it's a small rectangular brown packet containing a napkin, sugar & sugar substitute packets and a packet of non-dairy creamer, as well as a stir-straw in each little package. So you don't really need to bring back extras from the food court unless you like a lot of sugar in your coffee. The "creamer" at the food court is also non-dairy creamer (the liquid version in the individual little serving cup packages) :thumbsup2

Be aware the coffee that you buy may be made with Florida tap water. The taste didn't bother me, but wife perfers coffee made in the room with bottled water.

Not to get off the subject, but we freeze bottled water overnight in our room (take a little out first so the bottle doesn't burst). We carry them in insulated holders that clip onto your shorts or belt and they last us at least half the day, even in the Florida heat. They also don't sweat or drip because of the holders. We bought the holders before our trip. They are sized for standard bottled water and only cost a couple of dollars each.

that's part of the problem...the stuff in the packets isn't enough. ;-)

How do you freeze the water bottles? I'm thinking of getting a case once I get done there. Did you bring your own cooler? If so, that's not an option for us. I could probably leave them in the sink overnight filled with ice though....I was thinking of buying the holders for keeping it colder for a longer period of time.

How do you freeze the water bottles?

Moderates and deluxe resort rooms all have fridges. The ones in our rooms had a small freezer compartment. I've read on these boards that fridges have been provided for free in the values lately.

oh! ok...I heard they had fridges but didn't know they had a small freezer compartment...thanks for that info

The values have a slightly smaller half size refrigerator that does not have a freezer in it.

It is just for cooling, not freezing. There is a thread, rather lengthy, with the pictures.

Sorry to go off-topic again, but I would be interested to know where you bought the insulated holders. TIA
