Refillable Mug--And Memories (NOT about bringing my old mug down!!)

I'm sitting here drinking hot chocolate (it's cold in chicago this morning!!) out of my POFQ refillable mug!! Since we leave in 18days, it kind of helps to GET ME IN THE MOOD!!

Anyone else out there have a souvenir that gets them in the mood to take a trip??

We use our mugs all the time also.

At the waterparks this year they had barcode stickers that you could buy to purchase another day without getting another mug.
As we are quickly running out of room in the cabinet, I wonder if there is anyway they could adapt this for the resort mugs.

OMG! You must have been reading my mind ! I was thinking of posting almost the same thread!

refillable mugs..my DH and I use our ASSP one's everyday!!
The other items that we are going to make a habbit of buying each time is are the pins. Now, we don't trade them or anything like that but each of us picks out our favorite ride pin, a pin of the hotel we stayed at, and WDW pin w/ the year of our trip. The other "must pick up" is an ornament for our X-Mas tree. With both of these items( pins and ornament) we can look at them and always remember the all magical times we had as a family at WDW!!

At the bottom of our mugs we mark the Year of the visit we got that one at and it's sooo cook to just look back and remember it....ahhhhhh...can't wait to go!

Great idea marking your mugs with the date, I'll have to get the sharpie out!! Have a great trip, I see your leaving in 17 days! You will have to let me know how the POP is. December will be our 1st stay @ the POP( yes, the same wk as pop warner kids ). I am trying not be be nervous about the POP with all the mixed reviews . We are not picky, so I am sure it will be fine! Thanks for the fun thread. Maybe we will get some new ideas for "must haves" !!!

Another refill. mug person. I have my coffee every morning in my Pop mug. Of course I can change my mug on a daily basis since I have about 15 of them now. We also like to get a new Christmas ornament each trip. Especially those from the resorts. And a magnet for the fridge. ANd of course....I'm here on the boards way too much!

The mugs are such a great souvenir. I don't understand why people get so worked up over the "break even" point with them. Just buy the mug for the sake of having the mug and treat the free refills like icing on the cake.

Another souvenir I like are ink pens. Whenever I go on vacation, I get a pen from there. I keep them as an arrangement on my desk at work. It's nice to have them around as a reminder.

I love my mugs! I have 5 CBR mugs because my parents gave us the 2 they bought, 3 POR mugs, a Fantasmic! mug from our last January trip when it was freezing waiting for the show to start and we needed hot chocolate, and a GF mug I bought from our next door neighbors' garage sale. They're the only cups I use to drink out of, even though I'm a bit of a "cup collector" and we have a cabinet FULL of other plastic cups (old sorority/fraternity party cups, cups from OU games because they have new ones every year, etc.). It just helps keep some Disney in my day!

I also love to wear my Mickey watch that my husband ordered for from WDW after we got back from our trip this past May (I kept saying I wanted it, but never bought it, so he ordered it when we got home.), and my charm bracelet that I have put together over the past two trips. I love picking out the charms from the little bins, and I have tried to make sure they were meaningful. I have the Port Orleans charm because we stayed at POR last year, and POFQ this year, and a charm for each of the parks. I have a Jiminy Cricket charm because it reminds me of Wishes (my favorite!), Cinderella and her coach for our breakfast at CRT, a Morocco Mickey head because Restaurant Marrakesh is our favorite, and a Snow White charm because DD got to open the princess room in Toontown with her this year (see picture below!). It's bulky and loud, but I love to wear it because it is such a great reminder of our wonderful Disney trips, and makes me so excited to go back.

Our Pin Lanyards are prominantly displayed in the office by my desk (I have one that is 2/3 filled, the wife has 2 each completely full). In our guest room is our plush shelf, the new thing we started. We collect the 12 inch plushes, got almost every country in EPCOT (no France), and for several rides. They keep me going.

I use my mug everyday!! I live right above you in Kenosha WI and it was even colder today. Taking my son to school in 40 something degree tempatures while drinking my coffee in my Disney mug!!!! We both look at it every morning and count down the days. Only 27 for us!!!

I drink diet coke out of my mugs whenever I miss the World. My favorite souvie is a CD with music from all the rides at Magic Kingdom. Singing along to the Splash Mt. medley makes me happy even though I'm not going back to Disney for a while.

To get in the mood to go to Disney I just need to have a heart beat! Everything else is just icing on the cake!

DH uses his mugs on a daily basis. I use my Dumbo cups. I'm always in the mood to go to Disney!

I like the concept of refillable mugs, but because I'm a tea drinker, I find that refillable mugs tend to make the tea taste like plastic (and if someone borrows it for coffee, then it tastes like coffee from then on - yeah, I know, I'm picky !)

I get a new 'coffee' mug every trip, and it has to be black (sorta a theme, see?, and one time I got my DH a white one at MGM and the picture rinsed off in the dishwasher, no lie!).

I'm having my morning mug of tea with Minnie right now - perhaps tomorrow my Villians mug??

Love the refillable mugs!! I have them lined up on the window sill in the dining room. We didn't start collecting them until we took our DGD for the first time. Our first was the 25th anniversary. We have 3 from that time. One says Fall of 1996 and has autumn leaves all over..I love that one. One is from, Epcot, the Discovery Park, it says and my favorite has Sorcerer Mickey above Cinderella's coach with 25 in the center. These were from the parks. The others that we have are from the POR and POFQ as they are the only places that we have stayed. All of them are the fat ones until 2 years ago when I got the coffee mug style at POR. I just LOVE taking that with me. I usually don't have time to finish my tea in the mornings before taking DGD to school so I take it with me.
Also have a shadow box in the diningroom with pins and little statues of alot of Disney characters. Our lanyards are hung on either side and they are full of pins too. Yeah, every morning, I am ready to go back!!! Next trip is a ways off 325 days and then will get more of everything!!!!!

Hi GoofyGirlnPrincessV, I was in North Port a few weeks ago. Visited some friends that moved there. Very nice place, I will be moving down in a few years.

Allaboutmm: We have stayed at POP twice before and WE LOVE IT THERE! we wanted to do a mod or a deluxe this time, but DD is going to be 9months and we figured the GIANT icons would be a great thing for her to look at AND we happen to looove the food court here!!

MelissaM: I am sitting here writing out bills (blahhh) with my disney cruise line pen (where the ship floats around in it) and just dreaming about our next possible cruise!!

Karibeth19: Last year at our wedding in WDW, my DH had my mickey watch delievered to my getting ready room at the SWAN and i wear it daily even when i'm just sitting at home, it's anice memory!!

Twinkle: ohhhhh further North has got to be colder!! 40* is to brrrrr... for me! Autumn (DD) and i are locked in the house today!haha...next week it's supposed to warm up!! Woo-hoo for you under a month to go!!

Momerath: My DH listens to his WISHES CD every day on his way to and from work!! he commutes from Rockford into the suburbs of chicago so he has quite a trip, but he always comes home smiling!
