refillable cups or mugs?

O.K. This is going to sound real stupid:rolleyes1 does anyone sell their cups? :3dglasses Is there some place where you've found them cheap, cheap?:lmao: I'm an Ebaysian and I checked there already and did several searches. Any info would help. Hey, ya never know unless you ask, right. I'll post them when we get back from our vacation in September for whomever may want them.

The cup only costs $5.95 and includes the first drink free which makes the actual cost of the cup to around $3.50. I would think postage and packaging would cost more than that. I also doubt that most people would want to reuse someone else's straw. I'm all for finding a bargain but I'd just rather spend $5.95 and get my own/new cup. I'd hate to see this rather generous drink refill offer be abused. Just buy the cup from Universal Studios. You will definitely get your money's worth.

i totally agree.

on another note, why not spend an additionally $3 and buy the mug?
it is good forever...

i usually stick things in my bra but a mug takes up too much room.....:rolleyes1

I'm going to Universal and IOA. So, did I hear someone right, you can get a special mug that you can refill with beer?????? I need more info on that. How much is the mug and how much is the refill? I swear I'm not an alcoholic!

I would love to hear about these too, where do you purchase the refillable beer mugs and how much are the refills? :bitelip:

In 2006 we bought a large Spongebob cup from US - it was refillable during just the length of our stay - we are back this year - is this the type of mug you are talking about - you mean we can get free refills?? Sorry sometimes I need things spelling out.....:)

What I meant is, is there a "mug" I can buy and then pay for beer refills? if so, how much would the mug and the refills be? Would it be cheaper than buying a regular beer over and over again?

tlinus would know more about the beer mugs.
she's our beer drinking gal here......:rolleyes1

i stick with the coke..........

maybe she'll see this and give out more info about your question.

i'll try to send her over here.

i sent her a note to come answer your question.

if she is drinking a beer, she might be late.......

why yes I am drinking beer..........

Here we go.

There are refillable souviner pilsners that are sold at any stand with beer and also in the backwater bar at IOA. You pay $7.49 for the first drink. Each one after that is I think 5.50 and at happy hour it is 3.50 to fill with domestic drafts(bud and bud lite) Imported is a dollar more for refills!

In this picture you can see the cups me and DH have. They are good for life just like the souvie soda cups! Well worth the initial investment :thumbsup2

If you have any further questions - feel free to ask me and also try to look for the post entitled Happy Hour at the Parks on this forum. We are not alcoholics at all :rolleyes1 but everyone enjoys vacation :dance3: :dance3:

Okay, here are my questions. On the US web, the meal deal cup is $8.99 and they say that you have to purchase one every day. I asked the lady if it was plastic and if so why I would throw it away and get another one every day. She said that "technically" it is a different one per day. Next, I checked out the menus and on the bottom it says souviner cup at the bottom for $6.99???!!!

I am totally confused. Here are more questions:

1. Is there a difference between the meal deal cups for $8.99 and the souviner cups for $6.99?

2. Can I use the "Free" meal deal cups since they were included in the free dining promotion?

3. Is there a charge for refills for the meal deal cups? How about if I use them at places other than the designated meal deal sites, will they refill them or do I have to find a meal deal site?

4. Are the $6.99 cups refillable anywhere or only at designated sites?

5. If there is no difference, why is there an additional $2.00 to purchase a meal deal cup, especially if it is "supposedly" ony for one day?

You know I fully intend to use my 2 free cups all day every day and fill our children's drink bottles with the refills(thanks mystery Diser for that idea).

Finally, one last question, in 2006 I purchased a Shrek souvie cup. Can I use this cup for refills? It was a refill cup that year but I'm not sure if it is now or if I can use it again.

Thanks.

hey guys... last year i bought a refillable mug, one which you got the 69 cents refils with.
From reading this thead it seems i can take it back again this year to get more refills with. right?
But... Mine is a red mug, with the big label on it saying 'Summer 2007'. Could i get aay with bringing one back in 2008 that blatantly says in big letters 2007??

thanks

mugs are good forever.

buy a mug and get refills at a discount price.
if you have the AAA or AP get a 10% discount on top of that.

last october the refill cost for a mug was $1.25
much cheaper for refills this summer.
great deal

i am still using my dd mug. it is very old, came out when ddragons came out with their merchandise. it was valid then for refills and still today.

the plastic cup beverage program of refills technically are good for the day only. many have posted they were allowed to use that cup every day of their visit at uo.
just another mummy dust perk to keep guests happy i assume.

the question about the summer of xxxx.
can't answer as i am not sure the size of your mug.
you can send an email to guest services or call them to find out if yours is still valid.

I am with you stepdisney... this whole refillable cup/mug thing has me LOST!!!! (complete Universal newbie here... first trip coming up...)

Okay, I will try to lay it out 1-2-3 in simple terms...

The refillable mug that comes with the meal deal has FREE refills, for the day of your meal deal. (assuming that after that day, you can get it refilled at a discount rate, just like the other refillable cups/mugs.... These cost MORE than a regular refillable souvineer cup, since they have free refills for that day. They are only available with the meal deal.

Then, there is the regular souvineer cup.. costs less... there is a charge, ( I think it is .74 cents right now) So, you buy the cup, and then pay for refills.

Then, there is the beer ... we aren't big beer drinkers, so I do not know much about it. It looks like tlinus just explained it pretty well!

I am assuming that they pretty much refill any cup, either brand new, or from previous days/trips with no questions! :thumbsup2

Okay, do I have this right?
