does anyone know the truth about referals?
i am being told by my guide that indiana is not on the "list" of approved states, meaning we won't get anything for refering someone and they won't get it either, BUT, a senior rep from florida says indiana is on the list, but we won't get anything b/c we are only getting a 100 point new contract, not an add on.

Indiana does not allow referral rewards. If you refer someone you will get a nice Thank You note from DVC, but nothing more substantial. The person you refer will get whatever incentive is current.

Visit the DVC Member Website for the complete list of states that do allow referrals. I know Illinois allows them!

I'm looking at the "Sharing the Magic Progam" terms and conditions booklet that came in the mail a couple of months ago and it lists Indiana as an eligible state.

Also, it's very strange as it seems some people buying in w/the 100 pt offer have been able to get all of the incentives while others have only been given the $8 off per point. Could that possibly be something that varies depending on what state you reside in?

You are absolutely correct - I just went to the DVC Member site and checked and Indiana has been added to the list of states eligible for the referral reward. I have a stack of "Thank You" notes from years past, but the program must have recently expanded to include Indiana. Thanks for that update!! I stand corrected!

I think the apparent inconsistency with the 100 point may stem from the variance in incentives available at DL and Doorway to Dreams. I don't think it has anything to do with state registrations.

Here is the referral information from the member site:

""Eligible State" is any state that permits rewarding Members for their participation in the Program. Current eligible States are: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Puerto Rico also is an eligible jurisdiction. DVD reserves the right to add or remove Eligible States as business and legal circumstances allow."

Yep, Indiana is eligible - our "referees" got their reward this past Feb. when we joined.
