Redemption ? on an old ticket

We have an old ticket (about 15 yrs) that still has 3 days left on it. When we go to to redeem it for a new ticket will it be a Hopper or just an individual park per day ticket? If it is only one park per day will they let you upgrade to a Hopper pass?

It depends on what kind of ticket is it now. If it is a "hopper " ticket, you will get a hopper ticket in return. Otherwise you'll get a park a day ticket but they will let you upgrade to a hopper ticket if you want to . We recently went and used our remaining days on tickets from 1989. Since there was no AK at that time, we could only use our old tickets to go to MK, Epcot or MGM. Since your tickets are about that old, too, you will probably have the same issue, but again, they will let you turn your old tickets into whatever you want for this trip for an added fee.

Keep in mind that in turning the ticket in you actually lose money. You only get the old value of the ticket. So....unless that ticket has to be used for AK, I would use it for the other parks and not put it toward a new ticket.

We had the same deal as LoriLou. We were allowed to use our old tickets on any parks that existed at the time we purchased the original tickets. Since we didn't want to lose money we just used the old tickets at the older parks and bought a new ticket for the newer ones. Not a big deal and they are use to dealing with this....

Unfortunately we are only going to be going for 3 days to MK, Epcot and AK which was not around when the ticket was purchased. It looks like we will have to pay for an upgrade for AK. We already have our other tickets and this is the last one we need to get squared away.

Along these same lines I have a question. I bought a 6 day park hopper plus over 2 years ago for a trip 9/01. I cancelled that trip and plan to go in Sept this year. I know this ticket is still good but my mother is going with me this time. I plan for her to use that one and I bought a new 7 day park hopper plus for me. This just arrived and it is plastic like a credit card. The old one is paper. Will I have to exchange this once I'm there for the plastic type for entry and fast pass machines? Also, I bought the 6 day at a Disney Store Was my name put on it at that time or can my mother use this since it was never used?
