If I have 159 points on my card does that mean it is worth $159?

Yes it does! I had 90 points the last time I went to WDW and currently have 112 for DL this summer. I've gotten a lot of use out of these!!! Have fun spending :hyper:

I think 100 points is worth a dollar. 1,000 points $10.00, etc., but this might not be right either. I think you really have to spend quite a bit using the card and pay it off monthly and keep doing this for it to really be worth much.

Sounds right to me!

(But I'm not sure that you've posted this on the appropriate board.)

159 reward points on your statement would be $159. You would have had to charge $15,900 to get that many. To use them, you have to order a card and then the points are transferred to it. Then you just use the card like a credit card at WDW, Disney Store or wherever Disney. Your receipt will give your updated balance each time.

You can use them to pay your DVC dues, or to buy nearly 2 pts on an add-on ;) . Or you can do like I did last fall, and download them to a rewards card (which works like a credit card) and spend them at WDW. You can get your rewards card either by mail (the long and cumbersomeway) or just visit the guest services kiosk at Downtown Disney.

That's right. Reward points are actual dollars. Either call Visa or go onto the website and request a card. Just remember that the card (points) expire 12/31 of the following year that you request the points to be added to the card. So if you get a card this month the points on it will expire 12/31/05. Once you request reward points to be added to the card you cannot return them, they must be used.

I really don't think that this is a problem if you are going to WDW soon!!!

We've got 175 so far and we aren't going till Christmas Day! I'm hoping to pay for all of our dinners for the week!!

Yes it is dollar for dollar. You earn one dollar for each $100 your spend. I just called the other day to get ours as we leave in July. Wanted to make sure I got them on time. It was very easy. I gave them my info and they are mailing me a cradit card type thing that we can use anywhere Disney. Once we run out of credit we keep this card and they can reload it as we earn more points (i.e. charge more things = more points = more Disney spending money) We have 300.00 coming so far! I am planning to use this for lots of our meals.

I just redeemed mine for our honeymoon trip. You have to initially redeem at least 20 reward dollars onto your card. Then you can transfer them over in increments of 10. So if you would redeem them right now, you would get a reward card for $150 and have 9 that you couldn't redeem. My card is then good until the end of 2005. If, I hit another $10 increment, I can just call and they will add it onto my existing card with the same expiration date.

I applied my reward dollars to our APs online. After I ordered the reward card and received it in the mail all I had to do was type in the card number into my order. :sunny:

Yes you can, but it has to be the entire amount at one time. And if it's in January I'm thinking that it could be a tough month to pay with Christmas behind you (if you have that issue).

Actually, you can transfer any amount greater than or equal to $10 (or $20 for an initial transfer), so you would not have to leave the $9 waiting for more. The amount transferred does not have to be a multiple of $10. The multiple of $10 rule only applied when you had to redeem for certificates. Since they went to the credit/gift card operation, transfer rules were relaxed in this regard.

Just to clarify...

I earned 210 pts for our trip at the begining of this month. It paid nicely for the Refill hotel mugs and some dinning.

Make sure you request a "REWARDS CARD" via the bankone.com/disney website or by calling them. It will take about 2 weeks to receive the card in the mail but points are transfered instantly. The first orignal transfer amount (needed to activate card) is $20 and/or greater. After that you can in incriments of $10 and/or greater.

Now I have read a few posts that say the cards/points are only good in the year you transfer them. I would look into that because my card is good forever (DO NOT THROW AWAY YOU CAN ALWAYS ADD MORE POINTS IN THE YEARS TO COME!) and my points that I added in 2004 (this year) don't expire until 2007.

Check into it but as far as my rewards points were concerened (spent them all anyways ;) ) they did not expire in the same year I transfered them to my card.

Once transferred to a Rewards Card, the points adopt the expiration date on the card. So, don't load up a card with a 12/2004 expiration date unless you are going to use those points by then, or you will lose them.

You are allowed to have 2 cards, one with a subsequent year's expiration date to alleviate the above situation. Just call or go to the website to request another.

And, you can transfer points earned in 2004 to a card with a 2005 expiration date.

One more additional note: there is a limit to the amount of points you can earn. $750.00 is the cap, after that you stop earning points. It will take me a few years to charge $75,000 on my card, but then I guess I will be cancelling it.

I thought this was annually? You could not acquire more than $750 in ONE year?

Please let me know if I understand this correctly

In june I'm requesting my first "Rewards Card" I have a little over 300 points that I will be using on our trip in august towards an AP. Lets say i receive my card in June, then when I receive my visa bill the first of August and say i've earned 10 more points, would i be able to call bank one and have them transfer these additional 10 points to the rewards card i received in June??

thanks for your help - hope i didn't confuse anyone

Correct, that is exactly how you do it. I got my card in Feb 2004 (expires feb 2008) and for the next 2 months before our trip I just waited until the visa bill came and then whalla transfered those point right away to that card.

I did it via the website so as my rewards posted I immediately transfered them.

The card you will have in your hands is like a "rechargeable" prepaid credit card. (per the posts after my last one, they are given an expiration date -- mine is 4 years after I got it) Within that time frame I can add any points I earn per month. I am going to start my buildup for my next trip very soon :)
