Has anyone ever purchased one of the Red/Black umbrella strollers that they sell on property? I saw them at Once Upon a Toy last October. I was wondering if they were sturdy, easy to fold, roll well? Are they better/worse than any other $40 umbrella stroller? I'm flying down for a 5 day trip with my 4 year old. I don't want to rent a stroller, I'm not sure if we'll even need a stroller, but I definitely don't want to take my big ole baby stroller. If she's going to wear out, I don't want to have to carry her, but for a 5 day trip, we'll have to move if we want to see/do it all. We could use an umbrella stroller for future museum/zoo/etc trips, so I'm not opposed to traveling without and buying one if I need to. Just curious if anyone has one?

Thanks,
Liz

How big is she? My ds is tall for his age and at four he would not fit comfortably in that stroller any more. I have never owned one but it does seem to be an ok stroller for the price. Definitely better ones out there but it didn't look horrible to me... Anyway, here's a "review" of it from stroller.com. Just thought you might find it helpful.

We bought one for my dd when she was 5 and really liked it.I didn't plan on using one but she hurt her ankle and it really helped. She is tall but not very heavy for her age and fit in comfortably. It was really easy to push and even had good tall handles-I am 5 foot 8 so alot of strollers are hard on my back.We were not going to bring it home with us but I liked it much better than the old umbrella stroller I had that I decided to take it home(I am pregnant with my 2nd curently and am glad I brought it)We got ours at the resort and was able to open it up and have her sit in it and try it for a minute to see if it would work.I think I took the shade off for her because it was close to her head.

We have used this stroller for our little guy for the past 2 years. He was 2 and 3 when we used it and we loved it. It was comfortable for him and easy for us to manage, especially on the buses.

On our last trip, my DD turned 3 the week after the trip. She's not a napper and hadn't for about 6 months at that point. She also didn't like strollers anymore. After 1 day at WDW, she demanded naps and wanted a stroller. We ended up purchasing one of the red and black strollers on our 2nd day and she LOVED it. It rolled well and was a typical light weight umbrella stroller. The canopy was kind of a pain once folded up and make sure you put a luggage tag or something on it to make it look a little different than the 2000 other red and black ones. Other than those two things, it worked great. We are even planning on taking it back along with our other umbrella stroller on our next trip with our DD (by then 4) and DS (2 1/2).

We purchased one after forgetting one of our cheapie Walmart umbrellas at the airport. This is now our stroller of choice at home for trips out and about. Unlike the cheaper umbrella we have, this one has a mesh pouch in the back and it holds quite a bit. Very easy to fold - just push and move lever - and it locks shut. We left the canopy at the airport coming home (uhh...I guess we have an issue with forgetting things there), but hadn't used it anyway. We generally use it for 2 and 4 yo, but we took it back to WDW last trip and DS 7 used it when he was really tired. He's quite tall for his age (maybe 51 inches ???), so not the best fit, but it worked and was still easy to push. We plan on taking it on every trip until we no longer need a stroller at WDW.

Thank you all for the great info. She's 42" tall and doesn't weigh much, so I think this will work great. I'll be getting my Bday gift card, and I've got lots of reward dollars coming, so I think this may be just the thing to spend them on if need be. Since we're leaving dad and big sis home, I just don't want to have to drag the big stroller through airport security and still get the two of us and carry ons through. I'm happy to know we have an acceptable back up plan.

A word of warning...

Disney has raised the price of those strollers. We were there mid-July and I noticed that they now cost closer to $50. (or $49., can't quite remember but I was suprised!!!).
