Red Tide

Anyone heard about this - it has certainly put me off spending a day or two on the gulf coast

We've just returned from a week near Sarasota and yes there have been a few problems with red tide. It's not that bad though - only one beach we were on had cloudy water and irritated the throat a little. Some beaches had a few dead fish (but the boys actually found them quite interesting to look at) - everywhere is safe to swim and the water is wonderful.

we have just returned from a 2 week stay in Bradenton, nr Sarasota. Visited several beaches during that time & did see a few dead fish washed up on the beach but it didnt keep us away & none of us have suffered any ill effects.
