Does anyone know when the individual Red Sox games tickets go on sale?

I have no idea, but I bet Sue Z will know. She's a big Sox fan.

oh....i thought you were going to invite me to a game so I could meet Theo....

The quality of the individual tickets sold is only so-so. Fenway only seats 33,000 people, and there are approx. 19,000 Season Ticket Holders. Soooooooooooooooooo, tickets sold individually often don't have a very good location. Be careful:D .......

Thanks everyone. Eros we just want to see one game at Fenway while we are in Boston. My parents are taking a bus trip, but with the five of us it doesn't make sense to pay $200 per person, when we can drive up and make a weekend of it much cheaper. Do you know anything about the Holiday Inn in Newton, supposedly where the subway begins? We are looking forward to watching the Yankees whup the Sox from any location! It was so much fun wearing our Yankees paraphernalia in Boston last summer, we can't wait to do it again!

For YANKEE fans, I can only recommend that they sleep outside on a grate which is heated:smooth: :smooth: :smooth: .......

We took a tour of Fenway during a Yankee series....and all the Yankee fans in the group were taken to the dumpster!

My 2 DSs went to Yankee stadium to see the BoSox play the Yankees since they couldn't get tickets for Fenway.

We were at Yankee Stadium watching them beat the Red Sox this summer too. Was it the game that went into extra innings? It was the best game I've ever seen. What impressed me was how well behaved everyone was about who they were rooting for. We had Red Sox fans near us and they just got some good natured joshing. So it is all in good fun! That dumpster story is funny. My DH and the boys got booed by the Duck Truck this summer when they were standing on the site of the Boston Massacre. The tour guide announced it was going to be the 2nd Boston Massacre. My 10 year old was fit to be tied, it was hysterical.

Kallison ~
It was the night game in July (I believe) with a long rain delay. I was worried that they drove all that way and the game would be cancelled - but it wasn't. DSs also said everyone was terrific and the ribbing they took was all in good fun. However, they only wore their Red Sox caps - they tried to be low key. It was a worrisome time for us as parents (DS are 17 and 19) driving to NY and then driving home after the game. Obviously, they were safe and I say thank goodness for cell phones!

Kallison, I think you must be talking about the Holiday Inn near the "Riverside" green line terminal on the T. I've never stayed there but used the T from Riverside into Boston frequently as a kid growing up in the suburbs west of Newton. I think it's just a typical Holiday Inn....lots of businesspeople during the week.....not really a "resort" just a place to stay convenient to the T and to 128 and Mass Pike. The thing that I always think of about this Holiday Inn, is that during the blizzard of '78, one of my best friends from high school was a student at Lasell College just up the Road in Newton. During the blizzard and the week following, when everyone was told to stay off the roads, she and her dorm mates would bundle up every afternoon, and trudge up to the Holiday Inn, which was filled with stranded business(men) travelers. "Happy hour" began when the girls from Lasell arrived, and ended when they trudged back to their dorm, holding each other up, after an evening in the lounge of watching TV, dancing to the radio, impromptu games, eating and drinking... courtesy of the bored stranded businessmen
I'm digressing, sorry, it made me smile, I hadn't thought about that story in a LONG time ;)

Here I am but there has not been any official annuncement, yet!! I am going to say that it will be around the middle of January, but if you call the Red Sox at 617-267-1700, they might be able to give you an idea!!
I am saying the middle of January, as that is when the Boston baseball writers usually have their annual dinner honoring several of the red Sox players for their accomplishments for the past season and other awards too! The Sox will have a caravan where the Players and coaches make several appearances over the course of the week! This was not held last yr but is scheduled to return this yr! So all you New Englanders out there watch your papers and malls as the Red sox may be coming to your area!!

Here is a TIP on getting RED SOX tickets if you buy them the day they go on sale you will not get good seats as all the good seats are held until the dead line for season ticket holders has passed! If you are willing to get seats apart (single seats) you might get a half way decent seat!
As the date of the game gets closer the Red Sox do open more seats!! Of course if you want Yankee tickets buy early even though they may say sold out you still might be able to get seats!!!! Even though I am a season ticket holder (weekend only), there are times I have boughten tickets should there be a day game during the week etc and will usually wait til the game gets closer before I buy! Of course its easy for me as I can hope the T and get to Fenway in 1/2 hour or so. Opening day is a day you want to get the day the tickets go on sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! People will line up at the ticket office before it opens to get tickets for this day and any other game!!

If you ever go to Fenway stop by the Players Parking lot and see if there is a girl carry a pocket book with Mickey on it and that will more then likely be me!! I meet a few of my friends there before going into the park!!

Any questions feel free to PM me !!!

sue Z,
Do you ever wait for the players to leave after the game? DS loves it. About 2 summers ago we got Derek Lowe's autograph while he was stuck in traffic on Boyleston St.

Fenway opens up 90 minutes before game time. If you go in then and watch warm ups you can get autographs if you're persistant enough. My son has gotten Pedro Martinez, Nomar, Jason Varitec, Grady Little Mo Vaugn and many more. He's even had conversations with Pedro and Lou Pinella.
