I'm considering planning a trip to Disneyland. I've never been and it's been 20 years since my DH last visited the park.

I was looking at the Red Lion Inn which appears nice. It says that it's been renovated and is 2 blocks for Disneyland.

Anyone stayed here?
What did you think?
Can I walk to Disneyland from the hotel?

Thanks!:goodvibes

I don't think so but I'm not sure. I've never stayed here, can you give us the address?

The Red Lion Inn used to be the Radisson, and for a short while after that it was the Anaheim Maingate. It's on Harbor, near the strawberry field.

I visited the hotel while it was being renovated, and wouldn't recommend it from what I saw. But then, after the renovation it might be nice. I'll try & take pics, but if you do go there, please give us a review. :)

Oh that one! I did stay there when it was the Radisson. Ya, not walkable at all....the 2 blocks at DL are the biggest 2 blocks I've ever seen. Stay closer, stay much closer.

I stayed there recently and it was really nice, truly. Flat screen TV, comfortable beds, free wireless internet (and wired), etc. But I don't think it's really walkable unless you're really motivated!

So it would be more than say a 20 minute walk? It's really hard to tell from the Google map views.

Maberlyne - Did you use the ART to get to the park? If so, how does that work? How often do they come by and how long does it take to get to the park?

Thanks!

Editing: The link didn't work. If you go to google maps you can put in Disneyland and the Red LIon and it will show you a walkable map.

The link shows where it is in relation to Disneyland and says it takes 11 minutes to walk. If you are planning on staying several days it will turn into a very long walk at the end of the day. JMO

I think it would be more than 11 minutes to walk it. We rode ART when we stayed there and it sucked. The shuttles were almost always full before they got to us so it was stand or wait, and it was a mess getting on the shuttles. I can't tell you how many times we were there early on (or waiting from the previous shuttle being full) and people would shove us (or our little kids) out of the way to get on. That's why we decided no more ART, now we stay closer or we drive and park ourselves.

Truthfully, I'm really not sure about the walk. 20 minutes would probably be a good estimate. We didn't take ART when we were there, we have free parking so I made my dbf drive :). Of course, that probably took even longer, lol!
