Hello everyone. I am an adventerous type of diner. and, I love ice cream. I heard that epcot has these ice cream flavors. Can any adventerous diner like myself. Describe for me thier preference between the two. Pretty please. I may try both, if you all think they were both good. Thanks in advance all. :goodvibes :teeth:

I havent had the green tea ice cream but the red bean is really nice kind of like vanilla.

I have had green tea ice cream. I can't really describe it except to say that it didn't taste like tea. Very good!

You can get them at the Japanese pavilion restaurants and perhaps at Nine Dragons. I'd check the allearsnet.com menus before you leave just to make sure.

First off, I adore both types of ice cream. Red bean ice cream tastes like... Well, for the exact taste you'll have to try it, but I can give you a "direction." Think of a pumpkin ice cream without the typical pumpkin pie spices added. It's creamy and sweet without being fruity. Green tea ice cream tastes like Japanese green tea with cream and sugar. It's not like Chinese restaurant tea or American bottled green tea. But if you've had the green tea they serve in a Japanese restaurant you'll get the idea. If you want to start your taste test at home, Bigelow Green Tea (plain -- not flavored!) steeped for 2 minutes is a very good approximation.

 Now I've gone and made myself crave red bean paste cakes and green tea. Where's my Japanese cookbook....

green tea ice cream has a very suble, almost floral flavor. It is delicious.

I've had both green tea and red bean icecream, but I think that has something to do with living in Asia. :)

Red bean icecream isn't very sweet normally, while green tea is very mild. Personally, I like red bean icecream better because I don't like minty flavors (such as choc chip mint), and that's what green tea icecream reminds me of.

Lotus Blossom Cafe serves red bean ice cream and ginger ice cream, but not green tea.

Yakitori House serves green tea ice cream (but not red bean or ginger).

This is as of two weeks ago.

Thanks everyone!! I will try both. They sound so interesting. I will just have to try both. :sunny:

Nice job describing this ice cream! Making me hungry.

I had the red bean ice cream at Lotus Blossom and it was so bad I threw it away. Very icy in the consistancy--like it was freezer burnt. The ginger ice cream at Teppanyaki is delicious and creamy!
