Recurring monthly expenses (minus mortgage/rent)

Family of 4
Insurance 230
Cell phones 185
Electric 200
Softener salt 20
Garbage 25
Wifi and subscriptions 65
Ymca 57
Maid 160 (I suppose I could live without but I really don’t want to)
Just under $1000

Where do you live? Gas/electric here is over $400 a month, cable/internet $155, cellphone for 7 of us $350, car insurance almost $1000 a month, landscaper $150, terminate $35, water $50, steaming subscriptions probably $30...

where someone lives is going to be a key factor. when we moved from california to washington we experienced a huge drop in monthly obligation expenses despite receiving the same or greater service/usage-

for 3 cars/highest coverage my insurer offers-i pay about $4k a year (i was paying much more in CA for identical coverage 10 or more years ago),

gas/electric-i use more than i ever used in CA in a comparably insulated home yet my bills are lower than i paid there in the early 2000's,

cellphone (north american coverage, unlimited)-$150 for 4 people (i think we paid that for a limited plan/united states only when we moved in '07),

full pest service can be gotten for about $20 a month, landscaping service (including monthly applications of pre emergents, fertalizers, weed control...yearly aeration) $65 a month (and that's for multiple acres of landscaping).

it's crazy

Rural town about 25min east of Buffalo NY.

I should also say I do not currently have a cell phone bill. I'm still on my parents plan (I'm 37... so yeah I'm riding that wave), and I only use my husband's old phones so no phone payments or anything. Once the kids are older and start getting phones then I will need to add that.

For electric our highest bill is around July when the ac is pumping a lot and that could be up to 150 dollars. Highest gas bill is right around now (Feb) and highest is like 190... last month was 123. In the summer the gas bill is like 25 bucks. I live in a 2100 square foot 2 story built in 1963.

Car and homeowners I have no clue what is normal, my husband sets all that up and I just pay the bill when it comes. We have a 2005 minivan and recently sold our 2008 pickup for a 2018 pickup but the insurance only went up a little bit for that. Again once the kids are driving age I'm sure that will get crazy.

The internet is 80 per month and water is usually around 64 quarterly.

i have not discouraged my adult dd from leaving our cell phone plan-it costs less for 4 on it than it would cost if i dropped it down to 3. same with our car insurance-less for 3 cars/3 drivers than dropping it down to 2/2.

Ouch. With me working at home my electric bill soared to $180 a month with me running lights and a computer for an additional 8 hours a day 5 days a week. No gas bill since we have an all electric house.

Family of 4. All in (home insurance, car insurance, cell phones-4 lines, electric, lawn service/snow plowing, maid service, internet, garbage, tv/cable, "fuel" for the cars)

$850/mo approximately.

Family of 4ish here (one DS in college and one DS living at home trying to figure out life plans while working full time). We are ~$1900/month for gas, electric, trash, water, sewer, internet, cell phones (5 phones), health, home, auto (3 cars), and life insurance, and one car payment. The car payment irks me since I bought it right before COVID to replace an old van that probably would have survived the last year if I had known I'd be working from home. But here we are...

car insurance 4 cars, internet , streaming services , 2 car payments , gas/electric , cellphone 4 people , trash/water sewer , college loan for DS ,
Total $2184

Two of us: ~$745
Insurance $303 (DH has 11 classic cars, hello Hagerty/USAA)
Cell phones $117 (3 lines)

CenturyLink (Internet and phone) $98
Dish $184
Electric $-50 avg. (Solar panels, they pay us)
Natural Gas $75
Water/Sewer $0 (well and septic)

Trash $18
No car or house payments

Avg of $968/mo for all recurring bills, but our oldest (22) pays her own portion of the cell phone and car insurance bill so really $688.

This does include some things that we don't absolutely need (Netflix, Spotify). I did not include health insurance, but I did include other insurances like life, umbrella, and homeowners.

There are only two of us - but in a larger house than we need, but for now we are good with it. This includes all utilities, pest control, car and homeowners insurance. Right at $1100/month.

Oops, I included health insurance.

No credit card minimum payments (paid in full every month)
$300 in insurance (two young adult drivers + homeowners)
Cable/internet/phones - paid for by my employer (which is me, but its a business expense)
$40 in gas and electricity (we have solar - we don't have a bill at all in the Summer - and the power company sends me a check at the end of every year).

I do have $4000 per month in college tuition/room and board.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if others were including it or not so that's why I specified. If we are including health insurance then that doubles our amount.

$688 (all recurring payments including other insurances)
+ $646 health insurance
= $1334 total

I also didn’t include health insurance since it comes right out of my paycheck. I pay $96 biweekly for myself and two kids.

In this instance, you would count health insurance. Basically, I'm looking for "before you put food on the table or gas in the cars" how much money are you immediately "out" every month, outside of your monthly housing payment.

$1400 a month. Includes ( all insurance, cell, cable/internet, streaming, auto payment, braces, gas/electric, soccer)
-Family of 3
-No credit card debt.

I get paid monthly and Every first of the month i have an auto transfer of $1400 to the account I pay bills from. That is the amount i pay 90% of the time depending on DD activities and gas/electric.
